Van Jones says Democrats are discussing ‘how’ to replace Biden, ‘not whether’

Former Obama administration official Van Jones said Wednesday that Democrats, behind closed doors, are discussing “how” to replace President Biden at the top of the ticket, “not whether.”

The CNN commentator said the Democrats who defend Biden on TV have “completely different” conversations in private, amid growing concern in the party about Biden’s standing as the presumptive nominee.

“I understand people want to, you know, defend him and protect him and give him the space and the dignity to make his own choice,” Jones told CNN’s Jim Sciutto Wednesday, referring to Biden.

“But there is a big conversation happening right now about how this happens – not whether,” he added.

Jones painted a chaotic picture of the Democratic party as it tries to figure out a path forward in private discussions.

“Behind the scenes, it’s full-scale panic,” Jones said. “People are passing around legal memos, PDFs are flying back and forth on WhatsApp, trying to figure out, what are the options? How can you replace Biden? How do you get him to do it in a way where he feels respected, as he should be respected?”

Jones suggested Democrats were proceeding under the assumption that Vice President Kamala Harris would be next in line for the top spot. Among the questions Democrats are trying to answer, Jones said, is, “Who should Kamala Harris’s vice president be?”

Jones praised Biden as “a great candidate” but said Democrats must be responsible in determining what the best path forward is.

Don’t be surprised if they replace Biden with Kamilla, even if it is just for a few weeks or days. This will give them BRAGGING RIGHTS to “electing” the FIRST WOMAN PRESIDENT in History.

Cornered rats are unpredictable and vicious. Don’t underestimate the lengths the Deep State will go to in order to protect itself and insure its continued existence. The closer to November we get, the more desperate and irrational will be their actions. Neither laws, nor morals, nor ethics will impede them as they utilize all their power to eliminate threats. The coming months will be very dangerous times for America and true Americans. All these bad actors from abroad have been ushered in for a reason, and it’s not for the good of America.

IN my view, if they could prop ole joe up like they have for 4 years, why can’t they prop up kamala? Seems like an easier job...

I suspect 'the powers that be' plan on dumping Kamala...but yeah, with help from their butt boys in the MSM it could have been done. They covered for Biden for years... they could have done the same for Kamala.

They must salvage the D down ticket. There would be open rebellion among the rats if the DEI token were to be brushed aside, regardless of whatever backroom deals might make that happen. I'd be most concerned the power brokers are begrudgingly accepting a Trump win, and are "fortifying" the machine to derail his administration, or otherwise lock him into protruded legal battles, hampering his ability to change the nation's course.

Interesting and possible. The main fear they would have is that Trump could overcome most roadblocks they would be putting up. Which would work for our side. We live in interesting times John. Thanks for your thoughts on this issue.

Agree! They’ve done it before (Se first Trump administration.) and probably think they can do it again and be more effective.
