Is this sinful, Freepers?
If it is Joe and Jill together I think I could support it!
They had friends to gather round as they murdered themselves, but no one to help them continue living?
But I guess when you live in a culture that doesn't value having children, old people become more of a burden.
“ Dutch couples choose to end their lives this way”
…no belief system. You aren’t supposed to “choose” how you die.
My parents were together 55 years. Mom died and Dad followed just 6 months later.
My paternal grandparents were married over 70 years. Grandma went in to the hospital, Grandpa begged her to come home. He was later admitted and died; she came out and lived another year before passing. They were in their 90s.
When you spend so much of your life with someone you truly love, the loss and loneliness can be devastating.
But to go by suicide? That’s a sin.
Tough call if one is gravely ill and in pain with no chance of recovery. I have watched family die painfully with the only relief was very strong narcotics. This is a moral discussion above my pay grade. I want every second of life for me.
However.... the death cult of liberalism celebrates murder and death so I default to this as government sanctioned murder. They kill babies, and if they can’t kill them, the butcher them and sexualize them, and if they live to a ripe old age they still want to kill them.
Yes, it’s sinful.
Murder is murder.
Satan enjoys destroying God’s creations and if it’s God’s creations doing the destroying, probably even more so. If Satan likes something you are doing, you shouldn’t do it.
Her husband Els is a man? Never know these days.
Mankind never learns.
I would choose to live, since I see my life to be a gift and primarily a blessing. But I have not lived their experience or felt their intense. unending pain. This should never be done aa some kind of quick decision based on a temporary mood, but each of us feels life from our own perspective.
Having a spiritual life will help one get through the hard times, but sometimes there will continue to be a. high degree of suffering to be expected and absorbed.
it was up to them.
Suicide is suicide and those that assist are guilty of manslaughter. Those that praise it are insane.
This is our new world order, ain’t it wonderful? Makes ya want to celebrate by going out and helping with a few abortions. /s/
It’s the chickens way out so let em die. No sympathy from me. I’ve been married 51 years, back is killing me. On a heating pad now. It’s called life.
Got a house full and will be doing fireworks later with the grand kids we’ve had for two weeks. Been throwing a football with two blownout shoulders, tubing in a river, fishing, mini golf, target practice etc. they all leave the end of the week. It’ll be a relief, I’ll be in more pain for a week but suicide isn’t the answer and Ill look forward no next year.
Wife still turns me on and she’s doing great.. no prescriptions for either of us.
Life is good.. hurts like hell but good.
Life gets more and more difficult as you get older. I was thinking about this this morning, and how my mother would say that old age is for the brave.
We don’t have the right to take our lives or anyone else’s.
My concern is where this leads. We know how laws change over time. First it is voluntary...and then it could become mandatory.
I don’t understand why they didn’t have objectives and goals beyond their married lives. And, to commit suicide at 70? These people must live in a culture that doesn’t value human life. My God, my wife and I have full and productive lives at 70 and 73. If one of us were to go, we would want the other to carry on for the sake of our children and their families, our friends, and to continue our own legacy in general. We joke about living well beyond 100. We eat right, exercise, and milk the healthcare system for everything its worth. We have so much we want to do yet to come!
That’s so sweet.
“Duo-euthenasia”?
The Europeans have to get with the time, baby - it’s a “BOGO” or “2-fer”, with a 40% friends and family discount!
Gonna be a bunch of folks burning in hell for these things.
