Kremlin says any Trump peace plan for Ukraine would have to reflect reality on the ground

The Kremlin said that any peace plan for Ukraine proposed by a possible future U.S. administration of Donald Trump would have to reflect the reality on the ground but that Russian President Vladimir Putin remained open to talks.

Reuters reported on Tuesday that two key advisers to Trump have presented him with a plan to end the war in Ukraine -- if he wins the presidential election -- that involves telling Ukraine it will only get more U.S. weapons if it enters into peace talks.

"The value of any plan lies in the nuances and in taking into account the real state of affairs on the ground," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Reuters. "We do not know what kind of plan we are talking about, or what is set out in it."

Biden gave Putin the green light to invade Ukraine in a “minor incursion” and Putin and his crappy army screwed up the whole deal. President Trump called out Biden on the invasion green light if you recall. Putin is afraid of President Trump.

The important part is both parties are open to talks.

If Trump wins, and he does what he did when he was President, and gets out of the way of American oil and gas production and distribution, Russia and Iran won’t be able to afford their mischief.

“...You will have to give up what the Russians want ...”

Well those areas did have a plebiscite and chose to be separate from Ukraine and under Russia’s protection. I don’t know whether or not the UN was involved, or not.

Now, they’re for perpetual war with Russia.

No, its a "perpetual war" only for Russia, while the US has not lost or had one soldier injured.

Putin is saying that, any land or ground gained in war is fair to keep...The rules for war and for negotiations are now being set by the aggressors.

Yup, China will approve.

Taiwan, start acquiring nukes.

IOW we get to keep everything we’ve stolen.

Yes. But NATO troops will arrive in Kyiv. Ukraine gets to hold on to Ukraine so it's not a landlocked nation. Ukraine gets to survive. If I'm Zelensky, I'll sign the ceasefire. Then I'll build nuclear weapons.

Did you read what you linked to?

First of, nowhere there does it say he renounced it.

I am familiar with the song. did either of you actually listen or read it? The original song is not anti-Russian, but more anti-Cold War. Sting says he doesn't agree with the Russians or the U.S., he just hopes they can find a common ground for peace in wanting a better world for their children.

So, Dfgator, are you saying Sting is renouncing this song - so you think he is advocating or war between the Russians and the West, and that it leads to nuclear war, and a worse world for the children of both sides? Where does he say that?

Biden doesn’t want a settlement. He wants this war to continue until after the election.
