it will take about an hour and a half to watch. Excellent documentary that gives an accurate picture of America's founding, the political struggles of the last 200+ years and gives the you a good understanding of how we got from a loose confederation that valued limited government, decentralized power, individual liberty and a non interventionist foreign policy to a bloated dying empire constantly meddling and engaging in constant wars all around the world.

The United States was created on July.4th, 1776. That is why President Trump started the 1776 project. US History begins on THAT date.
The US came from somewhere. It did not magically appear in 1776. It has roots. Those roots begin in Jamestown in 1607.
Kinda yes. But this is not a bad video. One hell of a lot of bad ideas were tried in that 169 years before July 4th 1776.
Those mistakes and bad ideas heavily informed our founders for the correct course we should take in July 1776.
Nothing wrong with learning all we can about 1607 up to 1776. To me it can make us appreciate July 4, 1776 that much more.
Those were the Colonies. The US is a Nation that came into being in 1 day. AND with Slavery already pre- existing.

Hard lessons were earned from the first time our ancestors arrived from England.
But I am 100% with you on Trump’s 1776 project. And that project should be the flagship!
I also like his monument National Park idea where all the destroyed and removed statuary can be erected. And I’d like to see that on public land where it cannot be molested by the communist young pioneers.

My standard response to reparation idiots is that it took white American men 89 years to rid the United States of that horrid British institution of slavery.
The Founding Fathers had almost 170 years of colonial history (with self-government starting as early as 1619) to draw on—without that experience they could not have created a successful Republic. Look at how much less success the former Spanish colonies had after independence because they lacked the experience of self-government (and ideas about government brought from England).

The whole 1619 Project was done to paint The United States as responsible for Slavery. Trump’s 1776 project answered that the US already had slavery pre- inherited from Great Britian. The “Slavery is America’s first sin is nonsence.
The 1619 Project wants US history to be all about how bad white people are. It's not clear that the first Africans brought to Jamestown in 1619 were slaves for life rather than indentured servants (like many of the whites brought to Virginia were).
Slavery had been practiced by the Spanish and other Europeans in the New World long before 1619--and by Indian tribes even earlier. Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca and the other three survivors from the Narvaez expedition were enslaved in Texas for several years by local Indians before they managed to escape...in the 1500s.
The United States of America got its name from the Declaration of Independence. Before that they were “the United Colonies.”
