Former first lady Melania Trump is set to host another fundraiser with the Log Cabin Republicans, which will take place on July 8.
The fundraiser will be held at Trump Tower in New York and will have the ex-first lady headlining the event. The Log Cabin Republicans is a group of LGBT Republicans, with this fundraiser marking the latest move by former President Donald Trump's campaign to win over voters from this voting bloc.
Melania Trump previously held a fundraising event with this group in April, which also marked her first fundraiser for her husband’s 2024 presidential campaign. She defended her reasoning for partaking in this event, stressing the need for unity ahead of the election.
“We must unite in our effort to establish a society where equality is the everyday experience of every American,” she said. “Individual freedom provides a unifying set of principles and ultimately establishes our American way.” The former first lady has largely been silent on the 2024 campaign, which has been hit with several road bumps, including Donald Trump’s guilty verdict last month. When discussing his verdict in an interview, Donald Trump said he thought the situation was “tougher” for his family than for himself.
The event at Trump Tower will be held three days before the former president is scheduled to be sentenced for his hush money trial on July 11. If he is sentenced to prison, this would make him the first former president to ever receive this sentencing in the history of the United States.

I don’t like the pandering to the homosexual contingency at all. I don’t know what the answer is. I guess it would receive far more publicity if President Trump hosted it, so maybe that’s why Melania does it.
My guess is that the “Log Cabin Republicans” are pursuing some acknowledgement and attention from Team Trump, and it would not go well to tell them they are not welcomed because of their lifestyle choices (aka sin). Perhaps having them to Maralago and meeting with Melania is the least prominent way out. I still don’t like it, but can see the conundrum.
I’d also like to know what log cabins did to deserve this label.
Homosexuality is NOT the same as skin color or religious belief.
There is absolutely nothing sinful about being black, white, yellow, brown or any ethnicity. Homosexuality, however, is clearly something different. It is a sin and offends a lot of people.
How to handle the issue? I really don’t know. I look at Scott Presler, who the RNC has hired because of his unbelievably tireless work registering Republican voters. And Brandon Straka, who has brought thousands of dems over to the Republican party. Both homosexual men. I think it always comes down to love the sinner, hate the sin.
They want walls so the two party system can do its thing. The two party system has always relied on The GOP attracting certain voters while purposely alienating other voters. That way they don’t get too powerful. It’s like putting a governor on an engine.
So what is your alternative oh holier than thou?

I’ll disagree in part. I think he was Trump’s best appointment, supported Trump, and never tried to stab him in the back like others.
How many of those poor & homeless ppl that you minister to are gay? Do you refuse to give them aid because of their perversion?

There are many gay Republicans and Conservatives. They love the country and support our causes. Look at the work Scott Presler and Brandon Straka have done the last several years. Both are amazing.
