The Indiana Fever star wasn't going to attend the Summer Olympics but a spot just opened up for her
As the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris fast approach, it was believed that Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark wasn't going to attend the tournament representing the United States of America. Given that she has only been a professional for a few months, Caitlin Clark was not supposed to be part of the team that will be part of the women's USA 3x3 olympic basketball competition. Ironically, another rookie's injury was the reason Caitlin Clark may have a chance to be part of the squad but there need to be some adjustments to the overall roster. If the team makes the right moves in order to replace that other rookie, there is a high probability that Clark will be called up for the Olympics.
The 3x3 Olympic roster took a massive hit earlier in the month after Los Angeles Sparks' Cameron Brink suffered a season-ending ACL injury. She was the tallest playr in the roster and that leaves a giant gap in the squad. If Team USA tries to replace Brink, adding a new guard will make four of them for the squad and Caitlin Clark seems like the most logical choice. The three guards that still remain are Atlanta Dream's Rhyne Howard, Hailey Van Lith from the TCU Horned Frogs, and Cierra Burdick, who has been of the 3x3 squad in previous tournaments.
As far as the playing time goes, Caitlin Clark first needs to be selected to the squad but there is another injury Howard suffered just a day after Brink and is also questionable. She was recently spotted walking on a boot and using a scooter in order to move around. with those two injuries, the spot is more than open for Clark because of how similar her playstyle is to Howard's. A little over a month away from the Olympics, the first game for Team USA's 3x3 will be on July 30 against Germany. Considering Howard may not make it, Team USA needs to find her replacement ASAP.
The Olympic games are over-hyped nonsense. We’d be better off without them.
Don’t say she’s Catholic. Merrick Garland may have her arrested.
Great post.
A belated congrats on your team winning the title.
Yes, there are plenty of straight and/or white players in the WNBA.
Also, some of the WNBA players look like models.
Caitlin Clark is receiving attention because of her skill and ability. That’s why the other players are so competitive with her.
Because of Olympic Rules regarding 3x3 teams. I don’t believe Clark is eligible for the team.
“For FIBA, basketball’s global organisation, 3x3 has been about ‘inclusion’. It’s theoretically easier to organise a competitive 3x3 team than a competitive 5-on-5 team because you need fewer players and less infrastructure. So they’ve made efforts to encourage qualification from a wider group of nations, and to make it a somewhat separate enterprise from 5-on-5. So you can’t just parachute in anyone - they must have at least a minimal history with 3x3.”
“Essentially, at least two of the four players have to be ranked in the country’s top-10 players in the 3x3 rankings; the remaining players must have participated in at least one FIBA 3x3 Official Competition between Jan. 1, 2023 and June 24, 2024.”
Only if practicing
Most so called Catholics I know run lefty same rate the Tribe does
Exception the coastal south from Beaumont to Pensacola where Catholics proliferate
All this blather about CC being straight, white, Catholic is crap, pure crap. The only this that should matter is her ability to play ball, to shoot, and rebound. All the rest is a stupid distraction.
Tell them to stuff it.
The Left went after the men and won.
Now they're after the women. CC is not following the rules. The WNBA belongs to "certain groups".
