Caitlin Clark Could Participate in the Summer Olympics for Team USA After All

The Indiana Fever star wasn't going to attend the Summer Olympics but a spot just opened up for her

As the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris fast approach, it was believed that Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark wasn't going to attend the tournament representing the United States of America. Given that she has only been a professional for a few months, Caitlin Clark was not supposed to be part of the team that will be part of the women's USA 3x3 olympic basketball competition. Ironically, another rookie's injury was the reason Caitlin Clark may have a chance to be part of the squad but there need to be some adjustments to the overall roster. If the team makes the right moves in order to replace that other rookie, there is a high probability that Clark will be called up for the Olympics.

The 3x3 Olympic roster took a massive hit earlier in the month after Los Angeles Sparks' Cameron Brink suffered a season-ending ACL injury. She was the tallest playr in the roster and that leaves a giant gap in the squad. If Team USA tries to replace Brink, adding a new guard will make four of them for the squad and Caitlin Clark seems like the most logical choice. The three guards that still remain are Atlanta Dream's Rhyne Howard, Hailey Van Lith from the TCU Horned Frogs, and Cierra Burdick, who has been of the 3x3 squad in previous tournaments.

As far as the playing time goes, Caitlin Clark first needs to be selected to the squad but there is another injury Howard suffered just a day after Brink and is also questionable. She was recently spotted walking on a boot and using a scooter in order to move around. with those two injuries, the spot is more than open for Clark because of how similar her playstyle is to Howard's. A little over a month away from the Olympics, the first game for Team USA's 3x3 will be on July 30 against Germany. Considering Howard may not make it, Team USA needs to find her replacement ASAP.

Two of the 11 players on the Olympic team, Sabrina Ionescu and Kelsey Plum, are straight and white, one white player is a lesbian. Some of the black players are straight (Napheesa Collier is married to a white man.), and some it doesn’t say what they are.

They are a bet $15 to win $1 favorite to take gold.

That leads me to think a lot of blowouts are in store.

I’d think they’d include her to just keep people interested in the games.

I found an article from May that said there are 38 out lesbians in the WNBA. There are 144 players in the WNBA. (I think. Apparently teams can have 11 or 12 player, so it could be between 132 and 144. I am not going to look at every roster.) That means 26% of the players are out. I found an article from 2018 that said 38% of players were lesbian. Either way, The roughly 62% out players on the Olympics team is much higher. But Cameron Brink is on the 3 by 3 team, so apparently they have other players stashed somewhere.

Candice Wiggins claimed that 98% of the league is lesbian, when she quit the league. (Candice is black.) But that is an exaggeration, since many of them are married.

Even if she’s not among the best players right now, they should have her. Who knows if there will be Caitlin mania in four years like there is now. They need to take advantage of it.

“ Even if she’s not among the best players right now”

It’s going to be tough returning to a merit based society when even right-minded people are arguing for DEI.

I base my (unsubstantiated) claim on a girl I knew long ago who played college volleyball. She had the unfortunate luck of being straight and was quickly driven out of her team. Just not bearable there.

But, but, it’s more popular to think that the entire basketball world is black lesbians. And thus, it’s OK to hate them.

These people are usually the same ones who gleefully go onto sports threads and declare, “ I don’t watch this thug ball.”

It’s so 1960’s.

They should be ashamed of themselves.

I know someone from my neighborhood who was a great athlete and went to college to play basketball. And she dropped out because of that. She didn’t tell me that herself, but her family did. I didn’t know volleyball was like that.

They buckled. They made their decicion originally not to invite Clark because the investors didn’t want her to end up like the preson she’s replacing (hurt) and would cost filled seats in the WNBA areas. And after people started screaming race, which has nothinbg to do with it, they felt the heat and are looking at the possibility. And it’s obvious because they are filling a post position with a guard to try to appease the people that buy the tickets. Just goes to show how much they need the money and are not concerned with the players or the game.

“I didn’t know volleyball was like that.”

It was in this one case. I remember back in the late 1980s the last member of an entire dance troupe died of AIDS. Almost certainly they got it through gay ‘sex’. But one has to wonder if all of those members (a dozen or so) were gay when they started with the troupe, or were they, essentially, forced into that lifestyle. I don’t know either way, but I suspect some, perhaps most, found their ‘lifestyle’, the ‘lifestyle’ that ultimately killed them, when they were in that group.

As bad as peer pressure is in the normal world, I doubt we imagine just how bad it is in their world.

Caitlin Clark should say "no" and use the time to recover.

She was playing in March Madness then went straight to WNBA.

So it would be a good idea for her to politely decline.

It makes sense, but she might have to take one for the team. I know men’s basketball players have started to opt out of the Olympics now, but I assume it’s not their first time. What kind of competitor would deliberately opt out, unless it was to help their pro team?

She probably will. After all, she's from Iowa.

In addition to being white and straight, she is also Catholic. The trifecta.

If a practicing Catholic, she is likely to be pro-life. Four for four.
