If we really wanted to get rid of the lying and hypocrisy we could just offer political positions to the highest bidder.

“Yeah, that Operation Killer Jab, pushed for years afterwards, sure was great for MAGA voters (and non-MAGA voters).

I get it, you’re a cult-of-personality voter.”

First, Trump did not create the jab, knew nothing about the jab, so had no way of knowing that he should have opposed the jab. And, by the way, promoted heavily theraputics that have since been proven effective. Wrote EOs guranteeing every American access to them, especially the one that got him over it (monoclonal antibodies). Biden canceled all those EOs when he took office.

The vaccines were not announced until just after the election, which showed what Big Pharma thought about Trump; they hated him like you do. They had their jab developed long before, we now know.

And what do you think would have happened if Trump had come out and objected to any vaccination. He and all Republicans would have owned forever every death that ever resulted from the covid.

Cult of personality voter? Is Biden better? Then vote for Biden or the democrat. But you probably have not gotten past your man crush for DeSantis.

I have noticed that you are a completely deranged Trump-hater. You are such an idiot.

Why Trump supports the RINO McCarthy is a mystery to me. I will never forgot how quick McCarthy blamed Jan 6 on him. Of course he changed his story a few days later but he damn sure blamed initially blamed it on Trump. To hell with that backstabbing SOB,

I have many issues with William F. Buckley Jr. who founded National Review in the old days...but one of his funniest ideas was to randomly pick names out of the phone books and put them in Congress.

What's a phone book?

No, Biden’s not better and I’ll vote for Trump.

But going against a strong conservative for a lesser record because of slavish fidelity to Trump isn’t a good look IMO.

And Trump not only compromised our rights on multiple levels over the whole plandemic, but pushed the jabs on his followers long after the dangers without benefit were more than clear.

FWIW I think both Trump and DeSantis are controlled opp, like pretty much all pols at their level.

Trump supports him.

But Trump has a history of holding a grudge.

Somehow we seem to manage all that at the same time.

Just maybe we should select pols by their fidelity to our principles and positions—and not to a particular political personality.

Agreed.

“Because he [Good] is one of the most consistently conservative congressmen we have. McCarthy wanted him out.”

Agreed. Personalities will clash, but what counts is how they vote. Good has been consistently on the right side. There are plenty of Republican squishes to concentrate on defeating without trying to throw out solid conservatives.

Unless, of course, when given the opportunity to back the best candidate possible he chooses the deep-state preferred candidate like DeSantis, right?

Yeah, who cares if he had the most conservative record in all of Congress, all that matters is whether Trump liked him or not. /s

I’m sorry to see so many disparaging comments about Bob Goode. I’ve watched him for years and I can attest that he is one of the most conservative politicians I have ever seen. So, he supported Desantis, lots of people did. I have never seen him waver in the slightest on his conservative principles. If he ends up losing I will morn the loss of a principled conservative in Both the House and Virginia.
IMHO

If you don’t think Trump is also Deep State controlled, you’re kidding yourself.

(Trump was, however, my candidate over DeSantis.)

“slavish fidelity”

You are allowing your words to box you in.

Good is caught on a private video parroting the same anti-Trump talking points as the MSM and Nikki Haley.

The man did not have the sense to keep his mouth shut and his endorsements to himself. He cannot “read the room” as they say.

Here’s the clip. I both agree and disagree with him. Especially, I think Trump was right on the abortion move being used to hurt the GOP in 22. But all I see is a guy giving his honest take on three points.

Unlike the Democrats, Republicans need not fear recounts because they are less prone to cheat. Even the RINOS.

Now, you know, we came up with a vaccine that was done with my administration. And frankly, me, the FDA is not in love with me because I pushed them at a level that they’ve never been pushed.

But we got a vaccine in nine months. Laura, and it was supposed to take five years. Fauci said it’s probably never going to happen. Fauci was saying three years, four years, five years. A lot of people said twelve years and I got it done in nine months.

Dr. Fauci, who I always got along with pretty well, but I usually did the opposite of what he wanted,” Trump said. “He said the vaccine would take three to five years and probably wouldn’t even happen. And I got it done in less than nine months.”

“I think the best bet ever made was I bought millions and billions of dollars of vaccine before we knew it worked, before we had it approved, because otherwise we’d be waiting until October of this year
