The push for DEI has reached the peak of absurdity and danger, folks. We’re now risking life and limb to prove to some phantom source that we’re not racist by trekking through dangerous neighborhoods. Mr. and Mrs. Jones from the suburbs are now tiptoeing down the mean streets of urban America, dodging bullets and beatdowns just to avoid offending “low-income” communities. The hubbub started when Kasey Klimes, a senior UX researcher for Google Maps from 2017 to 2021, wrote a thread on X suggesting it’s racist to offer a “scenic route” option because it would route traffic away from low-income areas, who somehow depend on foot or car traffic from random suburbanites in order to thrive.

The Googles, They Are EVIL!
It’s racist to publicize “scenic routes” because it lessens opportunities for residents of the ‘hood to rob/murder/rape/brutalize innocent passersby who make the mistake of traveling “the mean streets of urban America”?
In other words, whites should voluntarily offer themselves up for beatdowns at the hands of “urbanites.”
Hope somebody develops an ad-on app that fixes this. If Google tries to block such an app, Congress should intervene.
Maybe “Mr and Mrs Jones from the suburbs”, who always vote blue, will see what they are supporting. I hope their Prius makes it with all of its hubcaps.

"Roll 'em up!"
Wealthy suburbanites probably aren’t keen on having Google divert traffic into their neighborhoods.
How hard is it to avoid the hood? Just look up where Martin Luther King Blvd is, and stay far away from it.
Microsoft patented it in 2012

Technology used to be useful and could help you.
i had a bonfire of the vanities moment on a business trip to chicago ... we got off at the wrong exit, it was night and raining ... it became instantly obvious that we had majorly F-ed up: 90% of stored boarded up or protected with rebar security fronts, and ghetto denizens were congregating on every corner ... i told my coworker who was driving to roll up the windows, lock the doors, and under no circumstance automatically stop for any red lights until we encountered a major highway, and if a cop stopped us, we should count our lucky blessings ...
Something else offering “scenic routes” would do: reduce congestion, thereby reducing carbon emissions.
Suggestion: Learn how to read a paper map and always carry them with you in the car.
On a certain long road trip I was warned by more than one person to avoid a certain city. I think it turned out to be accurate info. Don’t travel much any more.
Google maps is hazardous to your health.
A warning label would be good.
“We are intentionally sending you through dangerous neighborhoods where white people are hated and could be attacked at any time. If you are white use at your own risk.”
