i missed this one way back in Jan. for years, ever since the discovery of my horridly high LDL, my doctor has tried various statins to lower my LDL without any effect except for potentially fatal liver/muscle threatening side effects. now i read this article which explains everything about why this has happened to me. the so called 'experts' and big medicine and gov't strikes again.

I am glad I saw this article, I forgot I took a package of Oreo cookies out for a before bed snack.

My brother (a physician) once told me they should put statins in the drinking water.

:). i’d go and read the article through. i don’t think it’s necessarily recommending ‘toxic oreos’ to lower your LDL. in fact, the way i read it, it’s saying that high LDL is a good thing!

Read the book “Wheat Belly” by William Davis, MD. He proves that wheat is the cause of high cholesterol. I stopped eating wheat and my LDL was perfect three months later.

I buy BFree seed bread at Natural Grocer, made entirely of seeds. Delish for avocado toast, probably for sandwiches too, though I don’t eat them. Probably sold at other health stores, and Walmart online sometimes has it.

Try recipes in Davis’s book too, lots of ideas for wheat-free meals.

Another doctor in California said everybody over the age of 16 should be on statins. Yeah, if you want dementia.

If you didn’t have any LDL cholesterol, you’d be dead.

sure i’ll look up the book. and i’ve already cut way down on carbs (bread). but, again, the article is basically saying that like CO2 for the environment, you actually need cholesterol to live. maybe the higher your LDL, the better off you are. just sayin...

My heart doctor/vein surgeon, absolutely hates statins..
He said that the risk was not worth the reward.

that’s good if true, because no matter what they do, they weren’t able to lower mine one iota. my doctor seems deathly afraid i’m going to die of a heart attack.

People with lower cholesterol have higher mortality. The Koren study of millions of people showed total cholesterol of 200-250 was the sweet spot for longevity.

Many likely died from Covid due to low vitamin D and cholesterol as a result being on statins.

Sorry it didn’t work out for you. I’ve been on statins for 35 years, mother was similarly until she passed away after a fall at 102 with minimal arterial blockage at the time.

When I reached 45 years of age, I developed significant celiac. It’s genetic in my case. Haven’t touched wheat since. The idiotic Food Pyramid was pushed and forced for decades.

PS...we discovered the hard way that maltodextrin is dangerous. After it almost sent me to the hospital, I researched and found totally UNhelpful answers. One source even stated “maltodextrin may, or may not, contain wheat.” Gluten free diets and products have become a fad in some places. The most amusing one was “gluten free fresh strawberries.”

Doctors wanted to put me on medication for high cholesterol. I said, no, I’ll take care of it myself. And I did.

Well, a few years ago the buzz-phrase was "fat free", I just remember chuckling at "fat free" Swedish Fish, as if they were healthy and part of a good diet.

Your health is TOO important to leave to doctors. Do your research.
#1 LDL Cholesterol (the supposedly BAD cholesterol) comes in may varieties. Really particle size is the most crucial. Small LDL can lodge in your heart arteries and cause problems over time. The large, not so much.
#2 My old boss was feeling poorly so he a complete physical. Blood panels, EKG and doing the treadmill thing with heart monitor. You know what they found? Nothing. Said he was in perfect health and MOST importantly his cholesterol was perfect. A week later he died at home from a heart attack in front of his wife at the dining room table.

What kind of diet do you have? I usually start my day off with 2 eggs, (chicken) bacon and half of an avocado. Try to avoid carbs and sugars and just eat as healthy as you can. And make sure you do some exercise everyday. I walk. A lot.

Mr. mm’s grandmother had a cholesterol in the mid 300’s.

She lived to be in her mid-90’s.

totally agree! i’m on a good set of supplements thanks mostly to the learning curve i went through to keep my family far away from the jabs.

and yes, that’s exactly what the doc says about LDL too. that they find it lodged in the arteries in certain people. but, that was a blanket assumption that probably doesn’t hold at all for many people like me. and statins are poison to me in their normal dosing protocols. to his credit, he has checked to see if i’m getting the thickening in the arteries. none so far even though i’m closing in on 70 and still able to work hard.
