Many Prague travelers make these mistakes when using Prague public transport. We've decided to make a video that will help you avoid these mistakes and save you from receiving a fine. Better spend that money on beer!

I was ticketed by a young plainclothes cop on a Prague trolley and paid him the fine in cash right there. Then I asked him where the good places to eat were in town, because cops always know that. He looked flummoxed.
Turin has a horrible public transit system. Totally random routes.
Sounds like there are rules which are easy for tourists to be ignorant about.
It sounds like the ticket inspectors have a steady source of additional income. You have to pay the fine in cash on the spot? Does every ticket inspector Faithfully report 100% of the fines collected and turn that money in at their office?
Why did you get ticketed? I was in Prague last year and used the system frequently. If I remember correctly, they use the honor system for purchasing tickets. Are there other reasons you could get ticketsed?
No, I haven’t watched the video yet.
I wish there were an edit button so I could fix my typos! I checked my post over twice before posting it and still I have a mistake in there.
And yes, I understand why we don’t have the ability to go back and edit our posts.
Italy in general is a pain to get around in. The cities are basically run by Communists. Getting a taxi in a city without Uber is like trying to pull teeth.
However, their train system is pretty good if you’re going from city to city. It’s getting to the train station that’s an adventure.
We also make a point to pick up some Kolaches from The Czech Stop in West, Texas, when we go through there. Made it to Westfest a few times.
Geeze...we’re going to Prague next month. I hope we don’t get lost. Many years ago I was in the Tokyo subway and was absolutely lost...so lost that I was truly scared.Luckily a nice Japanese man who spoke English noticed my plight and helped me.Were it not for him I’d still be there!
Yes, it’s fairly easy to get lost there around the Astronomical Clock area, probably spent a half an hour meandering through the side streets trying to find our hotel, even with Google Maps.
The names of the two cities are spelled the same way but I figure they are pronounced differently.
My main question would be, how do you get to Pilsner Urquell brewery (and probably a couple of other breweries also)?
Nothing like the mistake tourists make in Chicago by using public transport at all.
I drove down from Dresden in a rental car to Prague. I was lost, no GPS, so I followed a taxi and all of the sudden I'm in the middle of a pedestrian mall in the taxi lane, well I got pulled over and the cop said the fine was 500 koruna($25) to be paid on site, which I paid, no questions asked. Finally found my hotel in district 4, and it was next to a subway station and no problems, after that.
Also there is a great duck restaurant in that district, can't remember the name, but good food and service, and reletively reasonable. I guess look up Prague duck restaurant. Have a good time, Prague is a beautiful city.
The time was expired on the fare receipt I had. I was new in town and didn’t know the drill.
Got it! My son travels to Prague a lot because his wife lives there and still does not have her visa to move here. One of my son’s friends described the cost of riding public transportation there as “It’s either free or $40.” LOL!
I was in Prague last September when my son got married there. I knew there would be a lot of time where I would be by myself and I was very nervous about taking public transportation. However, I found it to be very easy. I was originally nervous about not being able to read Czech signs on the trams or metro. It wasn’t hard at all! And I’m a 62-year-old lady. 😂
