Alex Jones on Thursday moved to liquidate his personal assets, agreeing to demands from the families of Sandy Hook victims whom he owes more than $1.5 billion in damages over his lies about the 2012 school massacre.
...Prior to Thursday, Jones had resisted converting his personal bankruptcy into a Chapter 7 liquidation. But facing mounting legal pressure, he reversed course and caved to the demands of the Sandy Hook families, who have still not seen a penny from Jones since juries in Connecticut and Texas found him liable in 2022 for defamation and emotional distress. His lawyers said in a filing that there was “no reasonable prospect for a successful reorganization” and that continuing down the path would only result in additional expenses incurred by Jones.
The legal maneuver ultimately “means [Jones’] ownership in Free Speech Systems is going to get sold,” Avi Moshenberg, an attorney who represents some of the Sandy Hook families, told CNN on Thursday night, referencing the parent company of Infowars.
“Converting the case to Chapter 7 will hasten the end of these bankruptcies and facilitate the liquidation of Jones’s assets, which is the same reason we have moved to convert his company’s case to Chapter 7,” Chris Mattei, another attorney representing Sandy Hook families, told CNN.
Jones technically has not controlled the Infowars business for some time, given that Free Speech Systems has also filed for bankruptcy protection. The company’s business has, thus, been under the supervision of a court appointed restructuring officer.
...The liquidation of Jones’ assets does not mean that Infowars will cease to exist. Several outcomes are possible. The court-appointed trustee could sell the business to another owner, for instance.
A representative for Jones did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday night.

I think I’m reasonably correct in my position.

If it’s only 19 plaintiffs, that’s excessive imo.
now we’re getting some where
You are not correct, and rather than taking my advice and learning what a travesty this trial and judgement was you’re still here slinging bullschiff. Educate yourself.
It’s hard to say but I have zero sympathy for those families. They are vipers.
You’re welcome to show me where I am wrong on the elements of the case.
I can agree with you on many parts, but as far as I know he crossed the line where his words were harming the parents of the children. It was first responsibility to ensure how he says things were within the law. He failed to do that.
Ask yourself....who would buy Infowars, and what present value they might have?
I would suggest whoever buys them....gets it for less than $1-million.
Jones? He gets nothing for the deal, but probably starts another network (without his ownership in the middle)...called something like Inf0WarZ.
He has the advantage of brand recognition, so he’s not starting from the bottom.
Also, he only needs to not be an owner for the length of the time that the plaintiffs can take his assets, which I think is seven years. Jones may be able to arrange something where somebody else owns it on paper for 7 years and then he buys it outright when he’s untouchable.
Well, if we don't fund the Evil Little Guild, the who's going to protect us from the Evil Little Guild? If it weren't for all the lawyers, who'd protect us from all the lawyers?
The conduct of his trial and judgment made mockery of our trial system. However, Alex is also undoubtedly long controlled opposition.
IMO he was brought in to make over the top claims to distract from, obfuscate, and ultimately discredit the legitimate exposure of what was presumably a false flag operation among a string of false flag operations to try to get public agreement with the gutting of the 2nd Amendment.
The ridiculous outcome of the ridiculous trial presumably brings both more payoff to the families and an increasingly martyred AJ for future alt media controlled opp, while more than conveniently quieting his past and future operation through the 2024 election.
Very similar is being done to Steve Bannon, who is conveniently being sent to jail for the four months leading up to the election.
The name Infowars is worthless, the physical plant, building, etc. have some value but probably not much, a million is probably a lot more than he will get unless he owns assets like land, buildings, etc.
As for Jones getting nothing in return, I would disagree, he’s going to get a 1.5-billion-dollar judgement against him wiped out and the ability to quickly start over minus all the debt.
Who knows what financial mechanisms that Jones has used to pull wealth out and hide it from the auditors.
Napalm on them ALL!!!
(except mine)
As I have said previously, Robert Barnes explains why you’re wrong on nearly everything you believe. Don’t waste my time until you can come back and tell me why a razor sharp lawyer like Barnes knows less about this case than you do.
Robert Jones was representing Alec Jones. If he’s so razor sharp, he should have been able to win or minimize damages.
If there is an error in the case, he should be able to appeal it. Don’tcha think?

The city of Uvalde was forced to pay $2 million for failing to respond to a mass shootjng that kiIIed 19 chiIdren.
Alex Jones was forced to pay $1.5 billion over *comments* he made about Sandy Hook.
Actions vs words. $2M vs $1.5B.

The Supreme Court has recognized that the police are not obligated to save your life.
The act as part of the prosecution arm of the state.
So if Alex Jones is sued for $1 billion for telling a supposed falsehood about Sandy Hook - why aren’t CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, NY Times, WaPo sued for $100 billion for telling falsehoods about almost literally everything?
