on Thursday, the Kansas City Chiefs halted all team activities after defensive lineman BJ Thompson suffered a seizure and soon after went into cardiac arrest during a special teams meeting.
In a statement on Thursday night, Thompson’s agent Chris Turnage said, “BJ is still unconscious at this point, but he’s stable, and his vitals are good.”
“His family asks for your continued prayers,” added Turnage.
Despite canceling all activities on Thursday, the Chiefs are expected to resume practice on Friday.
“Still unconscious” is a bad sign. Probably had brain damage. Vital signs could be pharmacologically propped up. Feel bad for anyone in that condition...especially if they’re young. May The Lord heal this guy.
He was in a planning meeting when he had a seizure and then went into cardiac arrest.
NO, the Bill player had what is known as Sudden death from the clot shot... Without instantaneous treatment, he would have died.
Say your heart is beating at 100 bpm, the chances of taking a blow for any athlete in between beats is extremely high.

He’s now alert and awake, which is wonderful news.
But, get this, they don’t have a diagnosis yet.
Uh huh.
We all have our dodges to deal with opposing opinions.
Just checked for the latest.
Still nothing on a diagnosis.
There’s a shocker.
From the above...
"...Staff then restarted Thompson’s heart with a single defibrillator shock. “So, he was only in cardiac arrest for less than a minute, minute and a half,” Burkholder said..."
60 to 90 seconds. Hope that's the case because likeky no brain injury. But to know so precisely, was soneone timing it. Guess, or did someone know to do that...
No mention of whether or not CPR was being done. If not, why not? Especially since use of both improves outcome from what I've read.
And for anyone else curious, a link to a recent paper on hypoxic brain injury...
And isn’t it interesting how quickly a defibrillator was obtained.
Almost like there was one in the room..
I wonder why that would be...

Thx.....
from your link ....
Burkholder said Harrison Butker — — ran to alert staff while others administered CPR.
PTL that this young man is now alert!
Many places have defibrillators, now.
I would imagine EVERY pro sport office/meeting rooms/work out areas, etc., have them, now, especially after these jabs. Maybe every 500 feet!
Even in General Construction we had one in every office trailer since about 2005.
