A woman dubbed 'America's worst mayor' will be probed by former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot after her town vetoed her attempts to block any investigation - the decision sent a town meeting into chaos.
Police, on Monday, were forced to break up the room as the situation devolved following a 4-2 vote by the town board to reinstate Lightfoot, who will conduct an investigation into Mayor Tiffany Henyard.
The Dolton mayor - who spoke into a golden microphone during the meeting - is currently under federal investigation, as well as immense pressure from her constituents to resign.
She is being probed for allegedly misusing town finances, which trustees say has led to a deficit of more than $5million.
The incident occurred after more than two hours of heated debate, during which village residents poured into the chamber to air their considerable grievances against Henyard.
The town board previously attempted to hire former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot - who worked for years as a federal prosecutor - to lead a special investigation into Henyard.
The request was vetoed by Henyard, as was one that would have opened up an inquiry into some of her questionable behavior and spending habits.
Henyard claimed the board's hiring of Lightfoot as a special investigator for $400 per hour was 'unconstitutional infringement of the powers of the office of mayor.'
One resident blasted Henyard before the board and audience: 'You're not going to understand until they come and put cuffs on you,' she said, referring to the FBI probe currently pending against the town leader.
Trustee Jason House, who was previously voted in as mayor pro tempore at a previous meeting, requested that Lightfoot be allowed to deliver remarks after the Monday night meeting.

Lightfoot played the race card over and over again as Chicongo's first liberal lesbian licker mayor, she'll do it here for Heyward also. The race card will get played again, and again, and again. One "strong" black woman getting attacked by the white dominated media (according to Lightfoot herself) is going to back another. Same song, second verse 'n all that.

Mayor Tiffany Henyard attends meetings dressed as a movie gangster and her residents say she plays the part – retaliating against them unless they do her bidding, The Post can reveal.
Henyard channeled drug kingpin Nino Brown from the 1991 gangster movie “New Jack City” at a 2023 gathering, an ensemble meant to intimidate, her critics claimed this week.
“People look at politics like a joke, it’s like a mockery right now because of all this stuff,” Village of Dolton Trustee Kiana Belcher told The Post. “She comes to board meetings dressed like Nino Brown.”

Lawrence Gardner, 57, told The Post Friday Henyard shut down his trucking business because he refused to renew a $3,500 contribution to her political war chest.
Gardner claimed he made an initial donation to Henyard, but her minions kept coming back for more.
“I made the payment,” he said. “Then every year she started coming and required the same thing, and we had a problem about that.”
When he refused, Gardner said city officials fabricated claims he was illegally selling alcohol and yanked his business license.
“What is she Nino Brown?” he said. “Anything she wants done, she gets them to harass you. She likes nobody. If you are not doing what she say, if you are not doing how she’s saying to do it, you are a problem. She don’t like them.”
Gardner said Henyard and Village of Dolton Police Chief Lewis Lacey have blocked dozens of local businesses from operating because they failed to make the required payments.
The Post heard similar stories from numerous locals who claimed they had recieved harassment from police acting on Henyard’s orders.
Belcher also said former Dolton Chief of Police Robert Collins admitted to her the mayor had asked him to target people.

Once it was revealed tha t Redmond is a registered child sex offender, residents in the community were outraged by the hire.
The Mayor of Dolton, Illinois hired a registered child sex offender to be a code enforcement officer tasked with inspecting homes and businesses.
Lavelle Redmond (46) spent 24 years in prison after pleading guilty for participating in the brutal gang rape and beating of two underage girls.
Redmond, along with three others kidnapped and sexually assaulted two girls, ages 13 and 14, in the Roseland neighborhood in 1991, according to FOX 32 News. Redmond is a registered child sex offender listed on the Illinois State Police child sex offender registry.
Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard hired Redmond to go into Dolton homes and businesses to perform inspections on behalf of the city. Once it was revealed that Redmond is a registered child sex offender, residents in the community were outraged by the hire.
“I will be terrified to know now if he had come to my house to do a code inspection,” a resident told FOX 32. “I’ll be terrified.”
“Oh my god. Don’t they supposed to do background checks before they allow these people to in these kind of positions?” another resident said.
A spokesperson for the office of Mayor Henyard said they are conducting an investigation into the hire and insisted that they are taking matters seriously, FOX 32 reports.
