He’s “right” but for all the wrong reasons. It was a very poor way to make the point that Black families were more intact in the past. It certainly wasn’t because of ‘Jim Crow’.
No one said it was Jim Crow that made black families stronger. Don't jump to conclusions.
You misunderstood, but you are not the only one.
There is a difference between saying, "during the Jim Crow era," and "Because of Jim Crow restrictions."
He did not say under JCrow laws. He referred to it as a time period. Anytime before LBJ’s big push on laws that incentivized black family breakups.
The black family was destroyed by the Feds. Forever made the Mom dependent upon the State — so as to lock in her vote. Criminalized the Dads so they could go to jail and then not be able to vote.
To top it all, they, the Demos, fund PParenthood — with the stated goal of preferentially murdering black babies.
I don’t think he was saying black family’s were better off “because of” Jim Crow, but that in those days most families were intact, kids had two parents, they had traditional values, day care was not a major expense, and the schools were good.
But the destruction of the family, particularly among blacks, WAS because of the grossly misnamed "civil" "rights" "movement" and the pervasive welfare state it spawned.
