When a combined force of 40,000 Russian troops launched an assault across Ukraine’s northern border with Russia on May 9 – that’s Victory Day, the day Russians celebrate the Soviet defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II – observers tried to understand the Russians’ aim.
Was the goal to drive on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city just 25 miles south of the northern border? Was it to capture a string of border settlements in order to push Ukrainian troops, and their artillery, farther from Russia? Was it to convince the Ukrainians that either of the above was the goal – and compel them to shift forces from the east to the north, thus weakening their eastern defenses?
Nearly a month later, it hardly matters anymore. Russia’s Victory Day offensive has failed on all counts. Ukraine can thank the resilience of its weary infantry, the foresight of its leaders, rush shipments of munitions from the United States and, equally, the sheer stupidity and over-confidence of Russia’s own leaders.
The same leaders who promised, before their 2022 wider invasion of Ukraine, that the so-called “special military operation” would end in just three days, with a Russian flag flying over Kyiv. The whole Russian war on Ukraine is stupid. The Victory Day offensive is just more of the same.
If the Russians’ goal was to drive on Kharkiv and capture a major Ukrainian city, they failed within days.

Moscow Marge & crew are the pro-Moscow boosters. They are nuts. Allowing Russia to take UKR is a green light for Russia to take the rest of Europe they become the “pro-Russian” lawmakers in Congress”. Its a way for them to grandstand, get on TV, and collect more campaign funds to stay in power.
Conflating our border with the Russian invasion of is wacko - we need no more laws, regulations to shut the border - they are just using the US border issue as an excuse - a novel idea that too many on FR are swallowing. And which novel idea is put forward by real Russians posters on FR.

But I harbor no illusions that Ukraine is anything but a swamp and a giant money laundering operation.
And strongly disagree that taking care of our border should not be a first and foremost issue before looking abroad to fix things. I don’t see anyone calling for new laws. I see a call for a physical barrier that works, strict enforcement of existing laws, and removal of the invading refuse that is invading our country.
To put it in gentile terms, it is time to take the plank out of our own eye and then worry about the spec in someone else’s.
Take care of the 20.000 illegals that have shown up in just my school district and then we can talk about the Ukraine.

I wasn't in any way, shape or form attacking you personally, I was disputing your claim. You apparently couldn't do so you lashed out in anger.
I personally could care less what you think of me. So, why would you assume that I think you care about what I think. It was all about the statement you made, period. It was BS, and I was calling you on it, by calling you to prove your statement is based upon any reality whatsoever.
This is a fight for our nation. Helping Ukraine, is not helping this nation, but even worse, it's not helping Ukraine either. All it is really doing is weakening our nation & Russia, while utterly destroying Ukraine.
Who wins in this confrontation? China is the answer.

If you think that then you know nothing about UKR. Its much more than that. The list is too long to post for me. Nor do you seem to know that the loss of UKR to Russia means the rest of Europe will fall prey, and so we will be sending our troops in direct confrontation with Russia. Its better to let UKR fight and win, than wait until we have to send our guys into that hell.
Our border issue is a Biden policy. Nothing will change until Biden/0bama is gone. No money, no law, no regulation. It just a wasted effort.
Nothing passed in either house or even signed into law by Biden means nothing - anything like that only works if it is enforced. Its A POLICY which Biden enacted on his first day in office.
Think again about how your proposals will come to be enforced and who will do that enforcing.

- Western sources claim Russia is using up to 3,000 glide bombs per month;
- Western sources also claim Russia is producing up to 4.5 million rounds per year, more than the collective West will be producing once production expansion targets are achieved in 2-3 years;
- Because both munitions have proven decisive and the collective West is incapable of matching Russian production, it is clear that in this war of attrition Russia has the decisive advantage;
- It should be remembered that according to US policy papers, the goal was never for Ukraine to "win," but simply incur a steep enough cost on Russia to perhaps precipitate a Soviet Union-style collapse, though such a prospect seems more and more remote;

This picture is outdated. These were the Ukrainian high schoolers headed to the frontlines. Now, the middle schoolers are headed there.

When us Americans fly in some tranny rear assault troops from Fort Liberty, the Chinese will welcome them with the same artillery pasting that the Russians are dishing out to the Ucrazians.
Reading some of the Ucrazian supporter posts on this thread leads me to believe they get their “news” from XiNN and PMSNBC.
