US seizes Scott Ritter’s passport

The US State Department has seized the passport of former Marine and UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter, he told RT on Monday.

Ritter was on his way to Russia for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) when he was pulled off the plane and had his documents confiscated.

“I was boarding the flight. Three [police] officers pulled me aside. They took my passport. When asked why, they said ‘orders of the State Department’. They had no further information for me,” Ritter told RT. “They pulled my bags off the plane, then escorted me out of the airport. They kept my passport.”

“Was this done in accordance with the First Amendment, or the Fourth,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, commenting on the news. The first amendment to the US constitution protects freedom of speech, press and assembly, while the fourth bars the government from “unreasonable searches and seizures.”

Not sure ... I think most people have to change planes in Paris or Frankfurt.

If he booked the flight via a US travel service (like Expedia, an airline site, etc.) they wouldn't even have allowed him to buy a ticket into Russia (all airports have been removed as destination options). There ARE ways around it, like changing the country setting on the foreign airline website (it is not illegal to travel to Russia, after all).

In any event, I'm sure the State Department has been keeping an eye on him (since the administration considers him an "undesirable"). I'm not certain if he was scheduled to speak at the conference...if so, Foggy Bottom almost certainly knew about it.

There are no direct flights at the present time. In fact, all US travel services have removed all Russian airports as destinations (you need to book either your entire itinerary or at least the leg into Russia via a foreign service). It is maddening.

No, there is no prohibition against US citizens traveling to Russia.

Foreign travel is a privilege.

Unlike the 160 countries that allow their people to cross our borders illegally.

First they go after the unpopular folks.

When they run out of them they go after you.

After my last post you suddenly went dark. That's so unlike you. Are you OK?

Just to refresh your memory, this is where we left off before you mysteriously disappeared.

Actually all appeals must be exhausted and resolved against the accused before any label like that can stick.

I saw some of that movie and it was so horrendous that I didn’t finish it.

There was no sweet clean ups of the horror a war like that would cause.

“On October 30, 2021, the federal government announced that anyone travelling by air, train, or ship, must be fully vaccinated. “

Also, the USA had a vaccine mandate so it was impossible to walk or drive out, as the USA is the only country that borders Canada.

Combine this with the illegal attempt to close Alex Jones’s studios last night; with the DoINJustice attack on the financiers of Epoch Times; and with the Trump verdict and a couple of things are clear:

They don’t think they can win; they know Rutabaga loses; they can’t steal it; and they are lashing out, Moscow-style in 1812, to destroy everything in sight before they leave.

The Deep State media does not care.

They are calling him a "convicted felon" anyway:

Yes he is and he got caught in a child sex sting also. But many here are defending him for some reason.

What is your point? Ritter is trash. He was caught during a sex sting and it was all in the news with plenty of evidence. It had nothing to do with Trump.

Your straw man arguments make you look like a fool.

“Moscow Throws Putin Fanboy Scott Ritter Under the Bus”

https://www.thedailybeast.com/moscow-throws-putin-fanboy-scott-ritter-under-the-bus

(Excerpt)

“Asked about the scandal Tuesday, Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov played down Ritter’s claims. He told reporters the “details” about the situation were not clear and that there was nothing unusual about a former intelligence officer facing certain travel restrictions.

“This is practiced in almost all countries in relation to former intelligence officers,” he said.”

What I consider foolish is to totally disregard Ritter’s message because you say he is a convicted felon (ala Trump?). He is an armaments EXPERT, former UN Inspector. He discusses what we have and what Russia has. He tells us the Western elites are underestimating Russian’s power and patience, while they “think” “we” can win even a nuclear war with them, China and even Iran (all at once!). Clearly Biden, Blinken, Austin, Sullivan, Nuland and are ALL morons and blind neocons and amateurs. They are also liars.

The Ritter criminal record you raise is irrelevant, immaterial. Everyone interviewed by Judge Napolitano agrees with Ritter: Col Douglas MacGregor, Larry Johnson, Ray McGovern, John Miersheimer, on and on.
