The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogr)am).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.

One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.
Enjoy today’s cryptogram.

They tell me that I used to snatch a dog biscuit or two when I was a wee lad.
Who's a good boy? Roll over! Fetch!
Back in 1978/79, I was a student at Schoenbar Junior High in Ketchikan, Alaska. I don’t know if they do it now, but in the 7th grade they used to take the class on an annual three-day camping trip. In eighth grade, you built a personal survival kit, and they spent time teaching you some basics on survival foraging and cooking of the local flora and fauna. When the classroom instruction was complete, the Coast Guard took small groups (chaperoned by a teacher) to one of the local small, uninhabited islands for four days. You could only eat what small items you brought with you and foraged for the rest. My chaperone had brought his dog along, and a week’s worth of kibble and dog biscuits. My friend Kenny did not like the foraging and was getting pretty hungry. The dog ignored the kibble and biscuits and ate what we were eating (fish, sea cucumber, etc). Kenny had had enough...since the dog wasn’t eating the kibble, Kenny asked Mr Olsen if the dog food “tasted good”? “I don’t know Kenny, I’ve never tried it”. Kenny took a handful, had a taste, then exclaimed it wasn’t half bad and spent the rest of the week finishing off the dog’s grub. A week later, Kenny is stopping by his locker and grabbing his books for class. The last thing he reaches for is the Milk Bone from the box he was keeping in his locker and snacking on the way to class. That trip damaged him...
Milk Bones were not cool when I was in high school. We were supposed to have outgrown them already.
Thanks.
Big Sis just told me that once I figured out the dog biscuits were kept under the sink, there was no stopping me.
