A small Missouri town is enraged over the senseless killing of a small dog by a police officer that led the mayor to resign amid growing calls to shut down the police department.
Horrifying bodycam footage captured the moment Teddy, a five-year-old, 13-pound dog, was tragically gunned down by police officer Myron Woodson, in Sturgeon on May 19.
Kevin Abrahamson stepped down as mayor after Teddy's owner, Nicholas Hunter, filed a $1million lawsuit against the city and officer Woodson alleging that his Fourteenth Amendment rights were violated.
During a regularly scheduled city aldermen meeting on Tuesday, dozens of Sturgeon residents came out to show their support for Teddy, reported The Washington Post.
'This is your town, if you don't speak up now, you might not ever get anything to change,' said a woman holding a 'Justice for Teddy.'

I’ve been around dogs all my life.
I own dogs. I rescue dogs and do service dog training.
Maybe that is the reason why we see this from a completely different point of view.
Maybe you’re not used to having dogs around and I understand that.
I still believe the cop was a complete idiot for shooting this little dog.
He was scared for his life? Come on.... 🤦♀️
What a Biden pantload of sorry amoral relativism you just posted!
How many innocent dogs did you get to kill before you retired your shield?
😂
This idiot cop would have dropped dead, if he saw my dogs!

Thanks. I guess this town is so small they don’t have a phone?
“I own dogs. I rescue dogs and do service dog training.”
Notice too that this officer did not know the proper way to use a catch-pole. Or that it helps to use doggie treats to bring in a stray dog.

That black thug was just protecting the public by slaughtering the deaf little fluffy dog
[This 15 pound, deaf and blind dog wasn’t going to hurt anyone. ]
What a threat! A 7 pound terror!
Bump!
There is nothing to suggest that the owner abandoned the dog.
The dog got out. It happens. It shouldn't be a death sentence.
If the cop can't tell the difference between a blind dog and a rabid dog, my original assessment stands...he is an idiot and should find another career. Preferably one where he isn't armed...maybe selling ice cream...

What the hell kind of analogy is that? You equate pointing a real looking gun at a cop to a tiny dog getting our of it's yard? ??
People have taken the belief that Dogs will join them in their ‘heaven’, and this is part of a larger philosophical argument that the same people don’t delve deep enough into, leaving out so many considerations beyond the cuteness of their little pooch.
Dogs have been deemed good, since they follow the commands of human beings, thus will join their ‘master’ in heaven. This follows that there must be ‘evil’ animals, however do these ‘other’ animals who don’t follow the commands of humans, animals that are not good, are these animals aware of their being? Does a Lion even know what it is? Is it evil because it will eat a human being given the chance? Does a man-eating Lion enter the depths of hell upon death?
It must be asked. If a dog goes to heaven, as truly just another animal, what other animals are in heaven? Are all the dinosaurs in heaven as well? Even though a Tyrannosaurus Rex was a carnivore, does that make it evil, because it preyed upon lesser equipped dinosaurs, perhaps dinosaurs that only ate plants? Are the good, more docile plant eating dinosaurs in heaven and not the carnivores? How does that work? Or is it truly just the dogs in heaven, and dogs are good because we are the master, and they the servant. Dogs deserve our undying protection, they are more than just animals?
I can’t understand it all.
You bet, every tiny dog we see walking in circles shoot it to death. Good thinken!

If he was sooooo scared of the little dog, he should have gone back into his car and call for backup. 🤦♀️
This is beyond ridiculous.
He needs to find another job.
This is insane. The cop is a thug.
You are seriously equating a 15 pound blind dog to a firearm.
I'll just leave that there...
