Some years ago, I was trying a denaturalization case of someone who aided the Nazis. As an aside, the judge mentioned that his dad had been distraught upon hearing of the Hitler-Stalin pact because he knew it meant there would be a world war. I felt much the same upon reading of the verdict in the New York case against President Trump. There have been a number of fine analyses of the case itself, and I have chosen one which I discuss below for its clarity, but I’m concentrating today on the aftermath of this ill-conceived political hit job.
Destabilizing Effect
As the editors of the Wall Street Journal observed about a “turducken” of a case charging a former president of obscure unprecedented offenses which even if proven would constitute only a misdemeanor on which the statute of limitations had long passed:
The conviction sets a precedent of using legal cases, no matter how sketchy, to try to knock out political opponents, including former Presidents. Mr. Trump has already vowed to return the favor. If Democrats felt like cheering Thursday when the guilty verdict was read, they should think again. Mr. Bragg might have opened a new destabilizing era of American politics, and no one can say how it will end.
John Lucas contends that this judge, jury, and prosecutors “have flung this country into a downward spiral from which we may never recover,” he argues, and I agree, the verdict is the most dangerous day in our history.
The Democrats have made the rules, and their opponents will have little choice but to play the game.
This is not a game that can or will be played by one side only. The rules are now set. When Republicans have the chance, they will play the game.

I wonder how long it will take the jurors to realize the pure evil they have done?

I wouldn’t support anyone be who tried to do what was done to Trump. The fact is the democrats have committed real prosecutable crimes.
Bkmk
Just look at the history of this world, the rulers over time and
the outcomes of the last 500 years or so. This land called the
USA has been invaded by various populations ever since 1482
when Columbus sailed the ocean blue. The invasion has increased
in the last 50 years to where it is an open situation for anyone to
come aboard and nothing will be done to stop them. The USA has
the capabilities to stop them but WILL THEY?
REALIST NEWS - Trump has set at least 13 new precedents for current and former Presidents. Enjoy!

Oh yeah? I wouldn't bet on that come this next civil war.
Be sure to click on the link to the “It’s a Wonderful Life” takeoff mentioned in the article. That’s good stuff!
well there was that 1 dem congressman from MN who was critical of it. But I’m sure he woke up this morning with a horses head in his bed
the collectivists have been playing this game all along
ted stevens
tom delay
bob mcconnell
michael flynn
etc
etc
etc
take out your political opponent by any means necessary
it is what collectivists do
it is what they have always done
“When Republicans have the chance, they will play the game”
Republicans always have the chance. They always side with the democrats. If by ‘republicans’ he subconsciously means “Trump” then ok. Ya. Trump will play. And win. As always.
You got it the GOP is useless….they worked with Biden and gave him what he wanted…
Since the conviction Trumps polling and funds raising have both gone through the roof. The Dems are pissed!
I hope Trump has Great security. The Dems are running out of options, and I have been hearing and seeing things about assassination.
What I really expect is some sort of false-flag attack on a courthouse or something and martial law with the election halted, and WAY more republicans thrown into prison camps.
Oh no..not Martial law,again.
Yep. The charges, trial and conviction only happened because RINOs play for the same team as the democrats.
They want Nicky perhaps. She’ll keep them able to hang on to power and out of jail. But Matt Gaetz and MTG are about the only ones who are loyal to their oath.
Tim Dillon -what is he telling the kids? His from-the-gut backyard Long Island wisdom rants are amusing, witty, cosmetically informative, but what he said post-Trump verdict was somewhat surprising and a letdown. He is uninformed. He said ‘everyone knows Trump is guilty of something”. He was giving a Trump-is-rich-so-he-must-be-a-criminal rant with some, “Trump even admitted it”.
Nope.
The kids are listening to a guy who frequents Joe Rogan talked with Tucker for 2 hrs. Doesn’t read up on what he’s talking about.
The thing that was surprising to me this week, I tined in to a couple of people I follow whose audience is young. Charlie Kirk spent time making fun of Baby Boomers. Bigotry? Why is he judging a group who can’t change their age group? It was mean, ignorant and misleading. What is he telling the kids?
now that Trump has been convicted for attempting to keep an NDA private
i think congress should hold a signing ceremony every time one of its members uses the congressional hush fund for NDAs
This is what I meant to post

I would suggest he spend 5 minutes reading Turkey’s comments.

Nicely out, AND ACCURATE.
THANKS.
That’s NICELY PUT.
