WASHINGTON, May 29 (Reuters) - The White House on Wednesday plans to announce new measures to support the development of new U.S. nuclear power plants, a large potential source of carbon-free electricity the government says is needed to combat climate change.

The suite of actions, which weren't previously reported, are aimed at helping the nuclear power industry combat rising security costs and competition from cheaper plants powered by natural gas, wind and solar.

Didn’t know I was responding to my nemesis. Doesn’t mean I disagree. Just pointing out a fact.

And fifty years ago the “back to earth” magazines were screaming about how terrible nuclear power was. I know of several sites preparing to build nuke plants that were shut down.
Anyone remember the Black Fox nuke plant in Oklahoma? Shut down before anything could be built.

How you interpret my response is not my fault, and all I was doing was responding to your response. I also wanted to be clear that my original statement was my opinion, and not a statement of fact. ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘

Good now ask the South Koreans to come build them. They build reactors in 60 months from first concrete pour to plant gate power for under $2800kw in capex no one other than the Chinese can touch them on cost or time built. While we are at it ask the Canadians for their CANDU tech so we can double the energy from every fuel pellet by burning them a second time in a CANDU reactor. The Koreans and Chinese both have built CANDU in 60 months or under on time and on budget. CANDU can put 1.8 cent per kWh to the plant gate no other tech can do that not even natural gas. Natural uranium fueled reactors as re the cheapest form of heat in a BTU basis in the planet and also the cheapest per kWh electric. Only roof top solar at 18 cents per watt capex is cheaper over a 20 year lifetime but adding in powerwalls for night time shifts is back to nuclear being cheaper on a 24/7 basis.

How many Nuclear plants SHOULD have been built by Obama, with his multi-billions, or Biden with his billions to Ukraine?

I remember Obama putting out Trillions to build back better BS. If they would have just built say 50 Nuclear power plants, for say 2-3 or 4 hundred Billion. They would be online right now.

What I think is, the goal is to DESTROY America, not build it up. Make America GREAT AGAIN is the beginning of the answer to the (f)maggot infested commie a holes

Quite right. I quickly read it as wind and solar were cheaper that nuclear. Not without subsidies!

I don’t know which is cheaper, natural gas or nuclear. It might depend on location and transportation costs.

Natural gas produces more CO2. CO2 is plant food. I think it is an effect of ocean warming. I doubt that it is a cause of global warming.
