Libertarian Party Platform:
Throw open the borders completely; only a rare individual (terrorist, disease carrier etc.) can be kept from freedom of movement through “political boundaries”, eliminate the Border Patrol and INS.
Homosexuals; total freedom in the military, gay marriage, adoption, child custody and everything else.
Abortion; zero restrictions or impediments full 9 months. Pornography; no restraint, no restrictions.
Drugs; Meth, Heroin, Crack, and anything new that science and marketers can come up with, zero restrictions.
Advertising those drugs, prostitution, and pornography; zero restrictions.
Military Strength; minimal capabilities.
Libertarians come in many flavors. Tom Woods is a Catholic libertarian historian who tracks largely on economic and religious freedom, non-interventionism in foreign policy, low taxes and less government/government spending as a general proposition. The libertarian president of Argentina is a GOOD guy.
Libertarians are food for 1-2% of the vote, and their votes count for as much as ours. Some of the intellectual economic libertarians would be useful in non-trade posts in the cabinet, and since they are used to losing, they are less likely to stab you in the back, though they might slam the door loudly on leaving a position. They WON’T work secretly with Paul Ryan.
Probably because a vote is a vote, and reaching out for votes from those who can be persuaded to vote for you is not a waste of time.
Preaching to the already-voting-for-you choir is entertaining but arguably less useful.

I’ve thought a lot about why he went there having watched it on Real America’s Voice Saturday night. There were certainly cheers, but a lot of booing and catcalling and the rest of the abuse that you throw on somebody you don’t like or don’t agree with. Trump just kept pushing ahead and once or twice said to them that they have the choice of getting their usual 3% or going with him.
In one respect, he’s fearless and will go anywhere. He proved it in 2016 when he went to a black church in Detroit and just the other day in the Bronx as one of the residents described it, “...he didn’t go to Riverdale. He came to the hood hood.” So going before the libertarians is essentially the same thing in going anywhere and delivering his message.
On the other hand, why would they care about getting more than 3%? If you’re in a party like the Libertarian party, and I was there in the 90s after the Republicans took over Congress and the Senate Republicans like Pete Domenici loudly proclaimed that the Contract with America was not theirs, you go into it knowing that you’re not going to get a lot but you’re trying to build something. It’s not an argument that’s going to sway most of them and so the only thing you can figure is that he’s trying to sway some of them and every vote matters.
Meantime, he found himself at NASCAR yesterday. Trump us truly the Energizer Bunny and that should really be the message coming out of going to the hood hood, going to the Libertarian convention, and then going to NASCAR plus whatever else he did in a four-day span. Contrast that with JoJo the Pedo Clown who’s eating popsicles and crapped his diaper over those four days just like every other four day span of his miserable existence.
Every vote counts.
I think he spoke to these liberals in the same manner he hosted queers at Mara Lago.
