[OFFICIAL.]

WASHINGTON, Thursday, May 26.

Major-Gen. Dix:

Dispatches from Gen. GRANT, received this morning, inform the department that the rebel army still hold a strong position between the North and South Anna Rivers, where their forces appear to be concentrated.

It will probably require two or three days to develope his operations, which are not now proper subjects for publication.

The Ninth Corps has been incorporated with the Army of the Potomac.

No dispatches have been received from any other field of operations. EDWIN M. STANTON.

Secretary of War

PHILADELPHIA, Thursday, May 26.

The Bulletin has the following special dispatch:

WASHINGTON, Thursday, May 26.

The steamer State of Maine arrived this morning with about 400 of our wounded from Port Royal, where they were transferred to her from the George Weems, which brought them down from Fredericksburgh.

Yesterday there were but 1,300 wounded remaining at Fredericksburgh, and these, it was thought, could be removed last night.

All the stores, etc., at that point were rapidly brought off, and it is probable that to-day that place is completely enrolled.

At Port Boyal a pontoon bridge was being thrown across yesterday afternoon.

The State of Maine resorts that no guerrillas or obstructions were encountered along the Rappahannock, our gunboats being very vigilant in patrolling the river.

Since 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, the following boats, loaded with wounded, have arrived: Winona, 600; Philadelphia, 260; Jefferson, 460; Young America, 200; and Exchange, 200.

These wounded were all taken aboard at Aquia Creek, having been brought down from Fredericksburgh by railroad.

The steamers Keyport and Lizzie Walker were at Fredericksburgh wharf taking on board those who are unable to be removed by railroad.
