Now mind you this remembrance varied from school to school but the bottom line is the child was remembered and shown respect.
Road trip?
What a BS statement by the school.
“ Plans for graduation ceremonies are guided by district policy. Decisions about specific plans reflect our sincere desire to appropriately balance the need to remember those who have passed and the opportunity to celebrate the accomplishment of all graduates.’
‘We realize that not allowing for certain types of memorials during graduation ceremonies may cause additional pain for those closest to students who have passed,’ he continued.
‘Our school administrators have the difficult responsibility of leading with compassion and empathy to help their school community process loss within the guidelines of policy.’”
F your policy - there’s no harm in calling out the name of the student and letting a family member receive it or just giving a moment of silence after words.
This is crass and inhumane and it’s these retarded twits who I guarantee were out marching to protect trans rights and BLM but probably hates this family because they’re “privileged”
My late son passed from a rare heart defect near the end of his 9th grade year. In what would have been his senior year, the principal called and asked if I would walk across the stage and accept my son’s diploma...I did! Small town.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
This is inexcusable.
Leftists have no soul. They sold it to the Devil a long time ago.
The world seems full of selfish self serving EVIL that knows no bounds or decency

Rich Stowell, of the Alpine School District, issued a statement explaining their stance on graduation memorials, emphasizing a balance between honoring the deceased and celebrating the achievements of all graduates.
‘As students across Alpine School District celebrate graduation from high school, we are mindful that some students tragically pass before they and their families get to experience that milestone.
We are a nation of rules, not leadership.
What a lovely young lady. Prayers for family and friends.
Whoever made that decision is dumber than a fence post .
Utah really fell into the gutter
Teacher’s unions are not interested in anything that does not put money in their pockets.
In my HS days (1947-1951), most of the class parents would have lynched or tarred & feathered every POS associated with that horrific decision...
We had students dying right & left as polio ran rampant...
Something like this would have been unthinkable...
Americans were Americans back then... Not the pussified, low IQ, cowardly, obedient serfs like today’s disgraceful Americans...
Oh my gosh. Give the family the graduation. They’ve been through hell. They’re not asking for much and Samantha completed all of the requirements. Let her grieving family have this moment.
A classmate of mine who was killed in a car crash, had the yearbook dedicated to him.
The school shows no respect for the girl or her grieving parents, but sends a terrible message to her classmates who are also grieving. Whoever made the decision should be fired.
