'I think it's a huge thing. I think a lot of people may say it's not about Black and white, but to me, it is,' Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson said when asked in an interview with the Associated Press about the race element in Clark's popularity and before she recently signed two major endorsement deals.

A rising tide lifts all boats. If 17,000 people buy tickets to see Clark play they are also watching all the black players, obviously.
A’ja is 100% right. Race does have something to do with Caitlin’s popularity. But so what?
Why are white people the only people who can’t take pride in their accomplishments? ESPN has a whole section of their online mag dedicated solely to bragging about black athletes. Just recently during the NFL draft there were a raft of articles gleefully celebrating the era of the black quarterback.
Didn’t race have alot to do with the popularity of Tiger Woods? He is the second, maybe first greatest golfer of all time, but the coverage heaped on him was so over the top in the beginning. He was god, the saviour of golf. His own father claimed he was one of the most important people in world history. A golfer for god’s sake.
Isn’t the coverage heaped on Bubba Smollet because he’s black? I mean he had his own show on Netflix before he ever had a top ten.
They don't care. They would rather be miserable, and see everybody else miserable, too.
So Wilson is a racist bitty. Got it.
Nothing to do with how outstanding Clark is, nope, none at all. SMH.
LOL! Excellent point!
Star???? Never heard of her until she opened her yap.
Well, she’s probably right in that if a black basketball phenom broke NCAA scoring records and won a lucrative WNBA contract it would be ho-hum.
But so what? Clark’s team filled up their arena for the first game while I think the WNBA attendance is usually poor. If her team is competitive generally, they’ll probably continue to draw big crowds.
Go on youtube and watch interviews with some of his teammates......Cornbread Maxwell in particular said "we didn't think a white boy could play as good as a brother".
Magic said the same.
Heck, in high school I ran into it.
Now, imagine the uproar if a movie came out entitled, "Black men can't swim".
Objection: White people don’t watch basketball. “They’s raciss’, that’s whah!”
Next objection: White people are watching basketball. “They’s raciss’, that’s whah!“
And he was an ordinary American.
Dončić and Jokić are both in the league but they're from Slovenia and Serbia and I don't think Americans can relate to them.
hahahahaha.........I think that was my first thought. :)
Bill Burr is a prophet. He predicted this in his routine about the WNBA almost perfectly.
After the anti-American rant by the idiot that was incarcerated in Russia, a blatant racist crack is just what this sad league needs to market to fans,
Endoprsement come with the perosn the comoanies can make them money. Like not someone who wa slucky to get out of Russia without compketing ehr sentece.
Clark is hot because she put the ball in the hoop more than anyone else. She just hoppens to be white.
LeBron, Oj, Jordan and dozens of other black players got and still get big money and so did Larry bird. Why didn’t whites cry because West and others didn’t make as much as the black guys.
Stop being a victim and get whatever deal you can.
Interesting truth about Black. It doesn’t seem to cover Maoris, Australian Aboriginies or Melanesians. Their celebratory US month is going on right now.
And racist, to boot!/sarc
ha ha ha ha
Diversity is our strength!!!🤣
Can’t we all just get along?
