Ping!........................
A great Dad and a corrupt, nanny state system: sue them all!
CPS will come knocking next.
good for this parkville dad...
i grew up in parkville, many many moons ago.
maryland school systems are effed up.
Anyone (especially a conservative) who has their child in a public school- especially in a blue state- needs their head examined.
God save our children from the evil demonrats.
Maybe I missed it but...
The school and the police seem to be acting as if Dad is not the custodial parent.
There’s a bigger story here. Not smart at this point to be making any judgements.
I can’t tell. Did he get his son back, finally?
I hope he takes him out of that school.
White Oak is (or was) a Sped school. Ex-wife used to work there.
Federal law has to make it clear, the schools do not have authority that exceeds the parents authority at any time for any reason.
I hope he sues the school and cop. He was entirely right, school has responsibility until the parent arrives and unless there is proven abuse, the parent rules. These damn school administrators and teachers think they own the child, they do not.
The real issue?
“This woman at the white oak school has been consistently rude, nasty and **disrespectful** “
Don’ never dis a bro, bro - they will kill you - or whine on the web.
Was “Dad” the custodial parent? Did daddy have paper (exclusion order) on file at the school? There is another dozen or so related issues to divorced parents seeking to use the child or school as a **weapon** against the other partner.
My DW worked at a school full of little monsters for 30 years. Quite a few were felons, most had been tossed out of other schools for a reason - and their home life was a horror movie...with many parents either absent or doing battle for custody and the $$ to go with.
Bottom line - read these stories with a salt lick near at hand as they tend to be long on tears and short on facts.
I have to say, if all that he said is true, that definitely sounded like the school’s behavior was based in racism, even if the school officials were black themselves—they just weren’t going to trust a black father. And the father never brought race up. Props to him, and I see a lawsuit in his future.
If they have in writing that he’s not the custodial parent, they did exactly the right thing.
I used to help run a youth ski club. One night a parent showed up at the ski resort to pick their kid up to go up north for the weekend.
We were very clear when they signed their kid up that any such requests must be in writing before we depart the city.
The father was quite angry with us but we stood our ground and made him pick his kid up at the city municipal center a few hours later.
On my son’s first day of middle school, he got on the wrong school bus coming home. Called the school when he didn’t get off and the Asst Principal told me I was overreacting trying to locate him. Called the next day and spoke to the principal & said next time I’ll call the police instead of trying to work with his idiot staff.
Fast forward a year or two later & the former Asst Principal was arrested at another school for “pantsing” a middle school girl getting on a school bus. Turns out the guy was pushed out of a couple schools for inappropriate behavior.
