If you’re toying with the idea of hosting a Mother’s Day Brunch but dread the cost—to say nothing of being stuck in the kitchen while your mom, friends, and family are having all the fun—you’re certainly not alone. I don’t host brunch often, but when I do, I’ve learned from experience to plan the event with three goals in mind: 1) keep it budget-friendly, 2) make it easy to execute, and 3) only minimal time spent in the kitchen on the day of the event.

I know a day late and a dollar short, but really a $150 Mother's day brunch?
Also I get melancholy on Mother's Day, my Mother passed away some 20 years ago, she was a good egg.
We LOVE Mary Hunt - we found her through The Epoch Times.
We now do pot lucks for all the holidays, including Mother’s Day - and, bring it in your own dish which you take home to wash - and any/all leftovers.
This has worked well for us, especially since we have so many elderly family members and the younger ones with kids and jobs don’t want all the hassle, it’s a huge job, I know I’ve done it.
That, and we get to try new things each year.
