Noelia Voigt, who was crowned Miss USA in November 2023, has announced she is resigning from her role, saying the decision is in the best interest of her mental health.
“Deep down I know that this is just the beginning of a new chapter for me, and my hope is that I continue to inspire others to remain steadfast, prioritize your mental health, advocate for yourself and others by using your voice, and never be afraid of what the future holds, even if it feels uncertain,” she wrote on Instagram.
Voigt, of Utah, succeeded the 2022 Miss USA, Morgan Romano of North Carolina. She was the first Venezuelan-American woman to win Miss USA, according to her statement.
A spokesperson for the Miss USA Organization told CNN in a statement on Monday that they support Voigt’s decision to step down from her duties and that “the well-being of our titleholders is a top priority, and we understand her need to prioritize herself at this time.”
The organization said they’re reviewing plans for the “transition of responsibilities to a successor” and that they will announce the new Miss USA soon.
Savannah Gankiewicz of Hawaii placed as the first-runner-up to Voigt’s victory in November, making her a potential candidate to be the newly crowned Miss USA. Alexis Loomans of Wisconsin, Jasmine Daniels of Pennsylvania and Lluvia Alzate of Texas rounded out the top five placements.
As a contestant in November, Voigt spoke about the importance of her heritage during the final Q&A round when she was asked what she would contribute to the Miss Universe Organization and promised to connect with diverse communities across the United States.

I have always heard the girl who wins the crown will have a lot of duties and expectations to take care of.
Lots of visiting the less fortunate, attending parties, giving ‘meaningful’ public speeches, and more.
You will be expected to smile and keep on smiling through all of it; Stepford Wife style.
If she was over stressed, serving as Miss USA, only six months after winning, she’s doing the right thing to leave now, with a modicum of grace. The duties would not be lessening for the rest of her term.
Don’t blame her one bit.
I suspect a good many of these contestants are imbalanced.
It's always been that First-Runner-Up assumes the title. Sounds like maybe First-Runner-Up Gankiewicz doesn't fit their image of who they want in the #1 slot. I'm betting Lluvia Alzate for the DEI win.
“I wanted to be worshiped. I didn’t want to actually do anything”
Mental health, feh.
More crazy than hot IMHO.
The young people today are either more brittle or less committed. Or both. Not so long ago you’d have to pry that title out of the Miss’s cold lifeless hands, after all the work she did to get there!
Not everybody can afford to work a full time job without pay and still go to school and all that. It’s understandable as to why she may have decided to quit.
[Miss Universe]
What about Gina LolaJupiter?
She was in the Miss Solar System contest.
The libs will tell us she is suffering from gender-dysmorphia and she should undergo immediate gender reassignment surgery.
Resigning Miss USA is just plain weird.
Looks like a Barbie wannabee 😱
I hope she gets the help she needs/is seeking.
If she needs comforting during this time of stress, I am available.
thanks for a good laugh

Anita Bryant. 1958 Miss Oklahoma. LOL! ;)
I always thought Vanessa Williams gave up her crown too readily. I love her singing voice! Nekkid pictures? Big deal! Now they let BOYS compete in Beauty Pageants! Ugh!
I don’t remember that one
Can’t remember if I actually met Adam West at a car show or not
I DID see him through the drapes backstage - wearing Batman pants and like a white heavy sweater between events. AND he was smoking which I didn’t expect.
The really weird thing that I DO remember was that the version of the Batmobile they brought was covered in some sort of black velvet - maybe that was protection that they hadn’t removed yet.
I thought it was really odd.
Now I definitely do remember meeting Paul Michael Glaser and Patti McGuire.
Don’t know if it was the same show - been too long - 2 different shows I think.
Patti McGuire very specifically held out her left hand for me to get a close look at her engagement ring 💍.
Similar has happened in the past.
If you’re old enough, you recall the story of Vanessa Williams, first ‘black’ Miss America in 1984.
She had to resign and surrender her crown after photographs of her ‘in compromising positions’ were published in
Penthouse Magazine.
Vanessa still managed to have a full career, as a singer and as an actress. She is now 63 y/o and still quite attractive to look at. Naturally, not botox, is the assumption.
