It appears that it takes about 2.7 gallons of compressed natural gas to provide the same energy contained in 1 gallon of gasoline.

True, but it emits much less carbon dioxide. The reason why CNG is less energy dense is that its molecules have far less carbon to burn... for what it’s worth.
In my book, that and $.50 will get you a McDonalds senior coffee.

Might as well go with vegetable oil and steam.

Yeah. I ride. That’s the first thing I thought of. Although, it’s a common phenomenon for gas to boil in a bike’s gas tank in hot weather.

It also reduces power out out. A friend converted an old van to cng. The 220hp 6cylinder engine dropped to about 150hp.

Why not? How about pure vegetable oil or even biodiesel? Close to co2 neutral....no?

Also the author of this article doesn’t even know what “LPG” is short for:
Quote: “...Like LPG – or Liquefied Natural Gas...”
Not! Try “Liquified Petroleum Gas” Mr P. Ridden/author.

Interesting. Presumably “several battery types” includes lithium-ion and related technologies. This is why we are seeing EVs weighing upwards of 9,000 pounds, hardly a “green” solution to saving the environment as promoted by libtards and other assorted useful idiots.
