Donald Trump has the incredible ability to bait his political detractors into becoming exactly what he accuses them of being.
If Trump says liberal elites hate democracy, they invent a radical legal theory to keep him off the ballot. If Trump says Democrats are weaponizing the justice system, they bring novel lawsuits designed to bankrupt him. And if Trump says there are people in government working against the American people, The New York Times brags that “the ‘deep state’ is actually kind of awesome.”
It comes as no surprise that America’s self-proclaimed “newspaper of record” is leading the charge to defend the “deep state.” After all, this is the paper that published an anonymous op-ed in 2018 — two months before the midterm elections — from “a senior [Trump] official” claiming to be “quiet resistance within the administration.”
That, my friends, is the very definition of the “deep state”: a government employee going beyond the bounds of his job description and the Constitution to undermine a democratically elected president.
There are hundreds of thousands of men and women in government who do good work, day in and day out. They do their jobs as defined by law and carry out the policies set by the president. But there are others who act as self-appointed “protectors” of institutions against politicians they don’t like. What they and The New York Times ignore is that our system of government vests power in those politicians because they were elected by Americans. When bureaucrats subvert democratically elected officials, they’re really subverting the people who voted those officials into office — people like you.

I think that the marxists have taken over much of the government. You don’t need to know who they are. You just need to see what they do.
They want to maintain the power over the people.
they love power. they love themselves. they hate everything else.
Which makes them no different than the majority of Europeans, South Americans, and Asians. Including the ones that are trying to get in illegally.
The MSM-Democrats want Americans to vote against the rest of the world on whether we continue to exist as a nation.
Because they'll never win a fair election where the ballots are only cast by American citizens.

I noticed years ago congress critters were presenting opinion articles from certain publications as evidence of fact. Especially during Trump’s impeachment trial. No... It is opinion and hearsay not factual evidence and should have all been thrown out and completely disregarded.
The Deep State is the tool which the real elites use to control the US, against the will of the voting majority.
If a bureaucrat of the Deep State is a good servant, then the reward will be a cushy high-paying job at a defense contractor (if DoD) or a pharma company (if FDA), etc.
The ultra-wealthy depend on the Deep State to also give them the information they need for their investing. Consider, for a moment, how much even a few hours advance notice of an impending major world event would be to a hedge fund manager controlling $100B worth of investments.

Absolutely. And not just federal, it is far reaching all the way down into local governments. Local school boards, city counsels, code enforcement, police dept, judges and court systems, Etc.

Their dislike of the American people overall is a factor, but I suspect elites love the deep state for a more basic reason — it keeps them employed.
Most recent example: Kate Couric with Bill Maher.
I admit I just read the thread title, and my comment is I believe every word of it. What other reason could there be for wanting us all dead and our great country in ruins? Its gotta be pure hatred of us.
It is indeed a deep-seated hatred. My belief is that it’s demonic, aimed at that one nation whose foundation recognizes man’s rights as being God given, and in so doing places man under God. Absent faith in God, they elevate themselves, in their own minds, to that ‘Executive’ position, and conduct themselves accordingly. And yes, they DO want us dead, with a few brown-skinned people around to perform essential labor. Obnoxious, pathetic, and unbalanced individuals, across the board.
THIS is why I will not join the - “Democrats are ruining this country!” stuff..
Yes, the democrat party is where the cancer originated, but they never would have completely ruined our perfect form of government without Republican compliance.
It’s - our POLITICIANS against WE, the people. I don’t think enough average citizens will wake up to this fact before it all comes crashing down.
