It’s a different spin on what the Left did in 1940 or so. Hitler and Stalin signed a non-aggression pact. Which was awesome! All the Leftists in the US stood with Uncle Joe! And that Adolf guy — he wasn’t so bad, was he? Yeah, sure, he’s dropping bombs on London, but that’s not our problem! Be a pacifist! US should stay out of the war! It’s not our fight!
Then Hitler invaded the Soviet Union and everything changed. We need to get in there! We need to help Uncle Joe! Let’s fight Hitler! He’s a monster! This is no time for isolationism!
I think the “peace activists” were thrilled when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor because it got us into the war so that we could save communism in the USSR.
The “peace activists” today are the same. They love war very much — just so long as the correct country is suffering.
