Tell the milkman: No more cheese 🧀!!!
I’ve also tried slathering a bit of mayo on the outside of each piece of bread, and that worked pretty good also.
On raisin bread? I could argue with that, but then I used to put peanut butter in my grilled cheese sandwiches.
Love grilled cheese Sammie. Tomato soup. Yuk.
😄
A local store has anchovy wrapped capers in olive oil tins 2/1.00. I pour the oil out into skillet to fry the sandwich with instead of butter. Various cheeses tried, muenster may be favorite so far. Minced raw onion & anchovy grilled cheese, just terrific.
Freegards
Mayonnaise is blasphemy on a grilled sandwich. Repent, it’s your only hope.
Why?
It’s a nice compliment to sharp cheese.
“he’s now sick of grilled cheese sandwiches and never wants to eat another one during his lifetime?”
For those too lazy to read:
“If I was to have grilled cheese every single day for the rest of my life, I would be perfectly content with that,” he says.
I like to melt butter in the frying pan, then place two slices of white bread side by side, slightly toast and flip to other side, put one slice of American cheese on each piece of toast, put the two pieces of toast together, then mash down with spatula, turn over and smash again, then I peel back the toast and slap on some regular yellow mustard and a few hamburger dill pickles, put the toasted bread back together and grill for a short time, flip once, and remove from the heat as the cheese is melting out the sides of the nicely toasted sandwich!
Another cheese lover after my own rock n roll heart! ;)
"Pushing the boundaries of what still qualifies as a grilled cheese"
Add a slice of ham and this makes more sense to me than slathered with chicken and gravy!
How did he rate Venezuelan beaver cheese?
Particularly nice with a bowl of tomato soup
In Portugal, the grocery stores had a whole row of sardines can options.
American cheese, swiss cheese and sprinkle of parmesan on sourdough. Fried in butter. Sometimes with bacon.
You got it.
Butter. The real thing, too. Not margarine.
Yes!
Ummmmmmmmm.......
