Trump Claims Downfall of Roe v. Wade Created ‘Beautiful Harmony’ as GOP Reels from Its Aftermath

Former President Donald Trump claimed Friday that his efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade have created “very, very beautiful harmony” at the state level.

He made the statement during a joint press conference with embattled House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), who has been targeted with a motion to vacate by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

One reporter asked, “Mr. President, while you were in office, you said that you would sign a federal abortion ban if Congress sent it to your desk. Why should Americans trust your word that you would not do it now if you were re-elected?”

Trump answered, “Because we don’t need it any longer. Because we broke Roe v. Wade and we did something that nobody thought was possible; We gave it back to the states.” Trump continued:

"And the states are working very brilliantly, in some cases conservative and some cases not conservative, but they’re working, and it’s working the way it’s supposed to. Every legal scholar, real legal scholar, wanted to have it go back to the states. Democrat, Republican, liberal, conservative, and we are able to do that.

"You know, what we did was give it back to the states, and now the states are working their way through it, and you are having some very, very beautiful harmony, to be honest with you. You have, well, you have some cases like Arizona that went back to like 1864 or something like that, and a judge made a ruling, but that’s going to be changed by government. They are going to be changing that. I disagree with that."

Political strategists have deemed the abortion issue a “loser” for Republicans, as evidenced by losses for GOP candidates in 2022 and 2023.

Regardless of whether he's able to get Arizona to backpedal, I think that that one comment of his will be an enormous burden in November. And the fact is that he did call for a FEDERAL 20-week ban at the March for Life convention in February of 2018.

Yeah, yeah....see this is how the Left always win. They're going back to the old extremist playbook on Republicans and hoping that Republicans "soften their stance" on abortion, nevermind that the issue is null and void.

If Republicans were smart, they wouldn't even comment on abortion. Even Trump's waffling and then making a lame statement was stupid.

But SCOTUS' Dobbs decision in 2022 came after Trump's 2018 decision and means there no longer has to be a federal level action by Congress and the Prez to undo SCOTUS's mistakes in prior decisions Roe and Casey. The problem was solved in the best way by taking it to the states. Trump is right to no longer argue it at the federal level.

The Dobbs Decision a good one a Live and Let Live decision.

Can’t allow politicians on either side to keep using Abortion as an emotional wedge to win national elections.

Of course there were other variables, yet Wisconsin’s was an expensive
mayoral race where the Dems did not stint on resources.....but still lost.
<><>Democrats spent $40 per vote, 2x what the GOP spent,
<><>free-spending Dems lost which is very telling in political circles.
<><>2020 Biden spent $15 per vote there.

Significantly, the iceberg lying just below the surface - abortion - seems not to have been the clincher loser Wisconsin Dems were counting on to beat the pro-life Repub. (Zhang Fei provided details)

This is only the 7th anti Trump article posted so far today.

Is that because it is Friday or is the place slowing for some other reason?

I’m curious as Trump is the under even money favorite to win.

The GOP is a large 1/3 favorite to retake the Senate

House odds haven’t been posted yet but at worse will be pkem.

The GOP thanks to Trump/MAGA is on the cusp of potentially taking control of all three entities-

yet for some odd reason on a conservative forum-the anti Trump, anti-MAGA incl anti American material dwarfs all else.

Roe v Wade was a poisoned pawn.

Not if you believe that fetuses in blue states deserve no protection.

These people are so stupid.

Another virus is out there that makes Covid look like a light cold. Personally know this. Got tagged by it. My overactive immune system beat it but was not fun. My estimation is over one billion dead in the next twelve months.

And then idiots now have nukes. Another billion dead.

Oh yeah Iran is about to take on Israel. And the US under Biden is no longer on Israel’s side. That ends poorly. Biden <- MORON.

I’m pretty sure that the Kenosha mayoral race not only didn’t hinge on abortion rights, but that abortion rights wasn’t even mentioned in passing.

I believe fetuses (which by the way is Latin for offspring, not clump of cells, in case you need a factoid when talking to pro-aborters) deserve protection.

But I also believe the U.S. Constitution doesn't give the federal government the power to decide on what's murder and what isn't. In other words, that's not an enumerated power.

The party nominee this week has made two newsworthy pronouncements on a hot button issue. They were what they were. If you think that the words of his mouth were anti-Trump, that’s on you.

Ignore the polls. Nothing will overcome the massive cheating that will occur this November. Where I live, the unguarded ballot boxes are already out, and who put them out because they may already be stuffed with fraudulent ballots !

Only seven? On some days I’ve seen dozens.

Jim Robinson and his mods do a good job. But it’s been a lot. Frankly overwhelming. No blame on them.

Guess Soros backed people and the never-Trumpers who troll here are running out of money. Turns out a lot of us little people can add up to a lot.

America is too far gone at this point to even think that banning abortion is a possibility. Might as well try and ban contraception too.
