This is how these idiot reported the story:
Dexter Reed's mother remembers the last time she saw her son alive. "Mom, I'm going for a ride," he told her, before heading out in the car that he had purchased just three days earlier.Reed, 26, was killed that same day, when tactical-unit police officers fired 96 bullets at him within 41 seconds, according to Chicago's Civilian Office of Police Accountability, or COPA, which investigates allegations of police misconduct and police shootings. "He was just riding around in his car," Dexter's mother, Nicole Banks, told Fox 32 Chicago on Tuesday, as she broke down in tears. "They killed him."
I think the media were trying to stir up another "summer of love" - turns out the police officers that killed the perp that was shooting at them were black.

We had a problem with night creepers pilfering through unlocked cars and porches and then the neighbor put up a motion light on the front of his house that’s practically a stadium light. Lights up the entire street.
No more creepers, not even dog walkers come on our block anymore. It’s quite startling.
I would empty the weapon then use it as a club to beat the snot out of the invader.
I believe I saw this old woman kill 3 men in a bar. With a pencil.
Even small yappy dogs are a noise deterrent and they can be pad trained if taking them out is an issue.
My dachshund is trained to a 3 ft square piece of artificial turf strategically placed in a flower bed at the bottom of the porch. She hates dragging through wet grass and snow. Took her all of 30 seconds to figure out this was her spot.
Never mess with an 80-something man or woman. They are tough people.
I think it was Polk Co. FL Sheriff Grady Judd that one replied to a reporters question why officers had shot a violent perp 68 times: to paraphrase: ‘that’s all they bullets we had.’
I have always liked that attitude.
Didn’t think home invasions happened in Idaho. Do I need to cross another potential bug-out site off my list?
Good job Grandma. 10 hours is a long time to be shot multiple times and lay on the floor and not bleed out.
Add a Moat loaded with Gators and Piranha to the Layered Security Zone.
I’ve put in a very good alarm system, but my wife just won’t use it. “This is a nice safe neighborhood” she says. “There’s no crime here” she says.
She even gets upset when I arm the system when we are out. Drives me absolutely crazy.
Axtuwlly,i think Idaho is like Alaska where criminals on the run flock to because it is so out of the way- I remember reading something about that year’s ago. Wasn’t Ted Kazinsky living there?
That makes seven incidents for my gun self-defense record. I started recording gun self-defense news stories in September of 2023. The FBI is the main source of information for guns used in the commission of a crime. They purposely omit many self-defense events. The media will quote guns used in killings from the FBI database but leave out the number of times guns saved lives. Someday, a few years from now, I plan to compare my database with the FBI database and will share it.
Thank you for the link to the story.
My wife used to wake up numerous times a night and then would wake me up saying “did you hear that”? Got an alarm, with motions, glass break, cameras, motion lights, dog and gun-—now she sleeps far better as do I——However, we know it’s not a guarantee, but increases our chances by a lot that we are on the offense instead of defense!
“Do I need to cross another potential bug-out site off my list?”
Yes, we are completely full. Rampaging moose and grizz everywhere. ISIS on the loose. Winter from September until July. Mosquitos the size of baseballs.

Ok,but why were plainclothes tactical unit police officers pulling someone over for not wearing a seatbelt?
Sounds like normalization bias. They don’t want to believe it’s possible the evil in the world could show up on their doorstep.
Yep...also, “We haven’t had a house fire yet. Why do we need fire insurance?”

Exactly. My Maltipoo shrieks like a banshee if or when she hears a noise she’s not used to or when someone delivers something or comes to the front door. She is paper trained, also, for night-time and has a certain spot she uses in the back yard.
