Fox News host Sean Hannity called on Arizona Democrats to nix an abortion ban that was reinstated by the state Supreme Court this week.
On Tuesday, the high court reinstated a law that traces back to 1864 and was subsequently codified in 1901. It bans nearly all abortions except those that are needed to save the life of the mother. The decision supersedes Arizona’s 15-week abortion ban, though the state’s Democratic attorney general has said she will not enforce the “draconian” measure.
The decision dropped a day after former President Donald Trump – who said it goes too far – came out against a nationwide ban on abortion in a move that disappointed many anti-abortion advocates but was also praised as politically savvy. Since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and the constitutional right to abortion in 2022, Democrats have leaned into the issue with great success.
Hannity, who opposes abortion, addressed the decision on Wednesday night and called on Democrats to legislate the ban out of existence:
"And the people on the left are so desperate attacking Trump now for an Arizona Supreme Court ruling that upholds what is a Civil War-era law banning abortion. This will be fixed in the next week or two. Let not your heart be troubled. I can pretty much assure that will happen.
"Trump opposes the law and this ruling… And you know what? Arizona’s governor is a Democrat. The state’s attorney general is a Democrat. The state legislature is almost evenly divided. If Democrats– you want to get rid of the law, well, you have a chance right now to get rid of it. And I would advise you, get rid of it!
"They would rather use it as a political tool ahead of November."
Currently, Republicans control each chamber of Arizona’s legislature by two seats. Democrats attempted to repeal the measure on Wednesday but were blocked by Republicans.

The moment it was most clear was when Republicans first took over the House after the 2022 election, and a small group was holding up proceedings over the much needed new rules package. The barrage of attacks against those brave representatives by practically every talking head on supposed conservative news channels was not only disgusting, but highly instructive.
Hannity is what passes for a conservative in NYC.

Absolutely correct. One of the worst parts about the illegal invasion is that the census will count them no matter if they are legal or not. No telling how many new dem rats that will produce in congress. That needs to be cleaned up.
Let’s face it, the pro-abortion fanatics have won the messaging war. It may take a generation or two, but until pro-lifers start doing better with the messaging, we’re always going to be on the defensive.
What I find fascinating is the Democrats are constantly fomenting all this anger in females over abortion, then at the same time encouraging them to transition to a different sex.

Everything happens for a reason. For every positive action there is a negative reaction. Because it is so extreme Az passing this will put the Supreme Court on the spot to revisit and remove individual States Rights on this issue. They are trying to trigger an exact opposite effect that will be one size fits all over the other states when the dust clears.
Neither is a true conservative. Hannity is a performer, and Trump has always been a dem pro-choicer. He claimed otherwise as part of his “Trump” business strategy. Both are grifters.

If you pray for rain you will still have to deal with the mud. But what is more important? The lifesaving benefit of the rain or the tolerable side effect of the mud that comes with it? You just can’t have the one without the other.
This is the reality of the Constitution. And what scares me is the fact that this “one hill to die on” over all logic and rationality might get Biden re-elected because folks are too stupid to realize you cannot have rain without the mud too.
