The almost-hysterical eclipse frenzy by the media this year amuses me no end, and again points out its archaic East coast bias. Out here in the West, we had a total eclipse last year, and all the media coverage was the usual: How to make a "cardboard camera" to watch it, where to buy eclipse glasses, where to watch it online. Now that the path of totality is on the East coast, it's suddenly a wild-eyed cacophony of DOOM, I tell you, DOOM! as the juvenile "journos" in the New York-Washington DC corridor fear they might be somehow "affected."
