The Ozempic Pushers Some fat patients say doctors are pressuring them to take the miracle drug instead of listening to their immediate health concerns.

I’d imagine that docs are well incentivized to prescribe certain profitable, high-profile drugs.
If anyone knows the details of this, please tell.
They probably don’t want to give up stuffing their faces
US med schools, I’ve heard, are funded by Big Pharma, so of course doctors want to prescribe drugs for everything, not really their fault, they just don’t know better. In the case of weight-loss drugs, mass stupidity going on. Whatever happened to diet and exercise?
My MD went to med school in Nigeria, didn’t push vax, quite the opposite. And prescribes 10 nutritional supplements for me including one gram of Vitamin C, which I was taking for the last 40 years anyway, long before I met him. We both trust my immune system.
And at the expense of the diabetics that need this drug. Those with diabetes are getting screwed by the soccer moms creating shortages of drugs developed for them.
Hey Doc, I guess skinny people never get sick or have medical issues.
I hate it when a doc will hint towards all your ills will disappear if you lose 30 to 40 pounds
I get it, I’m not an idiot.
I realize losing weight will help, but it’s not a guarantee that I will live forever.
The doctors gotta ‘earn’ their 10%, or thirty pieces of silver.
They gave you free coca-cola at work? Most workplaces, you have to use the vending machine.
It paralyzes your stomach. After I found that out I decided ‘not for me!’
Not at Coca Cola.
When I worked for Genessee Brewing Company, they'd give us free beer all day.
We used to have cops stationed right outside the plant to pick up their quota of Driver Drunkies.
It’s always something to bitch about anything
Id take it but it only curtails appetite
I do that with discipline and meth
To be fair , the weight is going to be a contributing issue to a great many ailments.
“Some fat patients say doctors are pressuring them to take the miracle drug instead of listening to their immediate health concerns.”
If you’re 100lbs over weight, there is no more immediate concern than to drop that weight.
“I’d imagine that docs are well incentivized to prescribe certain profitable, high-profile drugs.”
It’s very real. I have too many personal, familial, and friends’ examples to tell. I’d be here typing for an hour.
Going on a diet isn’t rocket science.
Control your eating and get out and move.
Unless you have a genuine metabolic disorder, that will be all you need.
Coffee is free. Why not sugar water?
So they should only provide water and black coffee.
“They probably don’t want to give up stuffing their faces”
Not everyone has an overweight status because they eat too much. There are medical problems involved that most never know about.
The only true weight loss capacity comes from proper diet and exercise. And without a way to burn off the diet, how can one lose weight. And if the dieter cuts out nutrician from the diet, how do they stay away from illness and their body shutting down from lack of nutritional intake? Does a car run on bad gas? When the sugar count in the body reaches mid 20’s in number the floor is where they will go. And if not treated, they will die. And Ozempic will be contributory to that if being perscribed to the wrong people for the wrong reason.
So you’ve got a circle, you’ve got people that are gaining weight on minimal intake because their body doesn’t process it right, unble to exercise due to injury or illness or drugs, and end up insilin resistent which packs the weight on mostly in ther torso.
I wish there was a way to lose weight realistically for people like this, and there are thousands of them out there, without unsafe drugs or mis-prognosis being considered correct. It isn’t always. You can’t take a pill, or in this case a shot, for everything.

It’s not like they’d listen anyway so give them the medicine...it works and it helps. Maybe after they lose weight they’ll feel better and be more active.
