For decades, the USSR and then the Russian Federation competed with the US to dominate the global arms market. In 2023, according to SIPRI, Russia didn't even make the top five list of exporters.

In this episode, I look at the evolution of Russian arms exports in 2022 and 2023, examine the drivers, and look at some of the nations (like France) that have taken market share as Russia drops.

Russia is also stockpiling disabled men ages 31-59, according to recent reports. The number increased from 1.67 million in 2022 to 2.18 million in 2023, an increase of over half a million.

I just watched video of an updated T-72 knock out an Abrams tank from 3 kilometers away with one shot. These aren't Iraq's tanks with no thermal imaging or Laser range finders. People underestimate Russia at their own peril. Russia is producing weapons that rival the west. One thing Biden and Nuland can take credit for is making the Russian military bigger and better equipped than it has been in decades.
