I have it on DVD and it does hold up very well!
There are many, many, MANY songs ( cowboy, Negro Spirituals, Stephen Foster, and other such songs ) that used to be taught in ALL schools, but haven't been for 60 years now, but should be!
It's difficult for children to love this nation, if they know nothing factual about out history, culture, and successes.
Really? Why?
Amen!
One song that I and all of my grade school classmates learned was The Blue Tail Fly, which is about a slave's love for his master. No one would dare teach that song to kids today. Stephen Foster is today considered "racist," so you don't dare teach his songs to children today. And anyone caught teaching Negro spirituals to white kids would be guilty of "cultural appropriation."
Well, I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison
And I went to pick her up in the rain
But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck
She got run over by a damned old train
Years later, when Disney had a Sunday night show, they did show FANTASIA on it; however, those were the days before color T.V., so it wasn't the same.

Hollywood made not one, but THREE movies about Stephen Foster ( with a LOT of his songs AND one has a spectacular, REAL, Minstrel show in it ) and they're all really good! I have a disc for each one! And those who condemn this stuff are IMBECILES! ALL Americans really DO need to know America's FACTUAL history AND culture!
None of these films are "racists" at all and b lacks are NOT demeaned/put down. Nor do they make slavery and slaves look like a "good" thing.
That was GREAT! The teacher talks like an eighth grade girl, but aside from that, AWESOME! Take THAT, teach!!!
