Unfortunately, Chicago is heading in this direction. Law abiding citizens would de best to get out while they can and move to a red state where laws are still mostly followed and citizens are allowed to be armed for self0-defense.

About 25 years ago, I went on a business trip to the harbor area in Baltimore. I stayed at a large hotel in that area, and going to the conference center was a breeze, using the “Skywalk” that let you walk all the way without having to cross any streets and wait for walk lights.
I really liked the Skywalk that went from our hotel to the Conference Center. In the morning, it was bustling with people, the shops were open, and it was a grand time, no crosswalks to deal with. I thought it was great. I usually left a bit early, as was the practice of many, so walking to and from was safe and very nice.
But one day, I stayed until the very end, and when I went back to the hotel using the Skywalk, it was nearly deserted. There were no people around. All the bustling stores and shops that I had passed during prior walks were dark, and had iron bars across their windows and doors.
I hadn’t noticed at first, but when I realized it, I felt extremely unsafe.
There was NOBODY around. I got the distinct feeling that everyone was privy to some rule that I, a stupid, out-of-state tourist, was totally unaware of.
I opened a door to walk out on a section of bridge that made the crossing high above the street, and there were three teenagers loitering right in the middle of the walk to the other side. When I opened the door, they all stopped in mid-action and looked over at me. They were positioned in such a way as to block the walkway, which put me in the position of squeezing between them if they didn’t move, or asking them to move.
I looked at them, all alone with me on this Skywalk, and looked down at the street crowded with pedestrians, and had the vision of me plummeting to the earth sans wallet and valuables.
I turned around, went back inside and down the stairs to get out on the street with all the people who knew from experience not to use the walkway after 5 PM. I didn’t know that, but the first time I went out there, it was pretty clear to me now.
Never been back down there since then, but I suspect walking out there on that Skywalk or even down on the street as I had would be a sign of insanity today.
Sad. A city just as lost as Chicago.
Read the Riot Act out loud. That was how such things used to be handled.

If these were white kids with MAGA hats, there’d be 24 hr coverage warning how threatening these crowds were, even without any crimes happening.

The news won’t report it because it is blacks. If blacks are doing something, the news just won’t report it. Period. Blacks have become untouchable. We are no longer a nation of laws. We are a nation of who is it? One law for one person, another law for another person. Disgusting.
The coming turf wars between the Mexican Cartels and The established black gangs should be pretty bloody as both sides play for keeps and fight all out.

Keep these teens within their large city environments (perhaps a wall can be built to encircle these areas). Then let them have at it. Praise the narrative setters at main stream media for using sweet sounding words, and never alerting parents of these teens of any potential criminal activity, present or expected. Laud and give high praise to Democrat politicians who vote to defund and remove the police so no one has to go to jail. If these teens can be kept within their home areas, eventually the matter will self-dispose.
This could be the only hope for the law abiding.

I have been in broadcast TV news for decades. I can tell you that a conservative walks a lonely road in a newsroom, even more so in markets of any appreciable size. They are all about the leftist agenda, so in a city like Chicago with a mayor such as the leftist apologist they have (which replaced the leftist apologist that was thrown out of office last year), they will tout the liberal line. So it wasn’t a “mob”, it was a group of teenagers. It wasn’t theft, it was mischief. It wasn’t tend of thousands of dollars in property damage, it was expressing themselves. Like Ilhan Omar couching the 9/11/2001 attacks as “some people did something”. While a true statement, it fails to accurately describe it.
Words mean things. The right words are important. You can sell a rape an “undocumented date” and a drug deal as an “undocumented prescription” or car theft as ass “undocumented test drive” just like the left takes illegal aliens and euphemises them as “undocumented migrants”, or the new term that started last week, “newcomers”.
“A rose by any other name”, said Shakespeare, “would smell just as sweet.” The same applies to the stench of aberrant and unacceptable behavior that liberals always want to make smell, well, rosy. It wasn’t an urban mob, you see, it was just a bunch of teenagers, who if you read the copy that local news uses, “were just starting to turn their lives around”.

Their constant attempts to make this kind of behavior normal, even good (what’ wrong with a bunch of teenagers??”) but if it’d YOUR store and YOUR merchandise getting plundered, it’d a different story entirely. “oh, but they’re insulted, let the insurance pay for it”. Right. The deductible comes out of whose pocket? The time and cost of clean up, the lack of stuff to sell while it gets replaced, the immeasurable but very real toll on employees that are stuck there while the wandering hordes commit their destruction, that doesn’t get paid for by insurance. And businesses pay higher premiums as a result. “They own a store, they are rich, they can afford it”. The people who say this (we the former mayor did) have never had to actually run a business.
As long as we allow liberals to downplay the actions of what we call criminals but they call constituents, it’s only gonna get worse.
