While on a visit to the border in Texas, President Trump admits the Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, is on the shortlist for Vice Presidential candidates.

How is that unexpected?
shock, the guy who actually stood up and defended his own state from the Brandenburg invasion is a potential pick for Veep. Amazing. He was not t he choice of anyone in GOPee. Pick Haley. She won DC.
I almost hope he doesn’t take it.
We need governors like him to stand up to the DS. Like DeSantis, he is more valuable where he is than as a figurehead VP with a stacked against him House and Senate.
He needs to stay in Texas where he’s big time needed
“We need governors like him to stand up to the DS.”
Here in Texas, Dan Patrick takes over if Abbott is no longer governor...we have NOTHING to worry about with him.
I doubt there is a short list.. he doesn’t need to decide for a while - why limit himself to a short list?
People pester him about it 24/7 - and he has all kinds of non-answers.
I wonder how long this so-called shortlist is.
Abbott hasn’t secured the state’s elections.
And he hasn’t protected the state’s budget from threats by Deep State.
Great gov they’ve got there.
“People pester him about it 24/7 - and he has all kinds of non-answers.”
Answer this. Anyone
Why do people pretend that whomeverTrump picks as VP will not immediately get hauled in to questioning, court, media takedown, their family tge same treatment, bankruptcy, divorce, job loss, career destroyed, then they’ll start on his pets
I defy anyone to answer this question
“…he has all kinds of non-answers.”
Pshaw!
“ And he hasn’t protected the state’s budget from threats by Deep State.
Great gov they’ve got there.”
What are you babbling about. The democrats and big powers want Texas blue. Abbott might not be perfect or even very good but he’s up against the world.
I wonder how long this so-called shortlist is.

From all the his recent interviews compiled it comprises everyone with a pulse. :^)
So securing the state’s elections and protecting the state’s budget from threats of extortion is too much to ask from a gov...
That attitude explains a lot.
Sigh.
“Pshaw!”
That was a weird response!
I’m thinking you misunderstood my meaning.
I’m just saying there’s no point in committing to a running mate any sooner than he has to - so he politely deflects when pestered about it.
BTW, there are no red states in this country.
No state in the union has secured its elections or protected its budget from Deep State.
People who still think there are red states are, well, to put it at best, misinformed.
We are not voting-with-our-feet our way out of this.
I agree with other posters, the Texas gov needs to stay in Texas as much as DeSantis needs to stay in FL - for the purpose of managing their own states.
A better pick would be one from a red state that will likely stay red no matter what, which would be SD’s gov Noem.
I don’t blame Trump—the list should be a surprise to all and he should make it at the convention floor. Who ever he picks may well be the next president of the USA when Trump leaves office.
I don’t blame Trump.
And one of the things I like best about the man is that he learns from his mistakes.
I think that’s a big reason he scares the living bleep outta Deep State.
Think Cruz for USSC.
I have had one particular person in mind for VP and he's not on the list.
Harry Reid incarnate you’ve shifted your attention to Texas! That was easy. All you had to do is substitute TX for FL and reuse you’re old blather.
Mission accomplished, another decent Republican governor trashed. Now go celebrate with a few Bud Lights and some Disney+, maybe fire off some love letters to Gavin Newsom and Gov.Gretchen, She Wolf of the SS.
