Wish I HAD pictures of the boat - I just have pictures of Dad sailing on various craft - usually tying knots for something. ;) The ‘Ms. B. Haven’ has been gone a good 30 years, now. Lost Dad in 2020. BUT - so many good memories. He was a great Dad. :)
His classics:
“Well, you can MARRY him, but you’re going to have to finish RAISING him!” (Too true!)
“There’s no CRYING in Cribbage! I’m just trying to make you a better player!” (And he did!)
“What are you going to DO with your life? You’re not hanging around HERE much longer. 18 and OUT!” (I joined the Army at 17; spent most of my life there.)
“You can’t even begin to IMAGINE how much I love you.” *SNIF*
Gets me in the ‘feels’ every time I remember that. :)
Very poignant quotes from your dad. Thanks for sharing that.
Soooo, have you ever gotten a 29 hand in cribbage? Lol I play crib with my grandson quite a bit. I actually got a 28 hand one time - I had the wrong Jack lol.
I was hoping you had pix of boat too! He sounded like an A1 guy!
Quite the profile page. I am curious. It says you joined FR in 2004 and on your page you say you are 62. So is that now or what you were in 2004? If that were back then you would now be 82. Two yrs. younger than me.
Are you still on that 160 or was it 180 acre farm?
And thank you for your service.
You had a great Dad!
The one about cribbage could have been my Papa!
My mother criticized everything I said or did, but he made up for it!
Thank you for sharing him with us!
Love your home page!
“’ As far as looks go I’m petite, blond & green-eyed”
Me too!
I was a “dirty blonde” (I hate that expression!)
I was petite till I broke my hip, but am working hard to get
rid of that weight!
I married a sweet guy in blue jeans!
He was born and raised in Nebraska, but he IS my Knight in shining armor!
He just rides a steel horse.
(His pic is at the bottom of my home page.)
Sweet memories. 💕💕
