Richard Lewis, the comic and star of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” has died. He was 76.
The Post can confirm that Lewis passed peacefully Tuesday night at his Los Angeles home after suffering a heart attack, his publicist Jeff Abraham of Jonas Public Relations said. “His wife, Joyce Lapinsky, thanks everyone for all the love, friendship and support and asks for privacy at this time,” Abraham added.
Lewis announced in April that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and retired from stand-up comedy. “I have Parkinson’s disease, but I’m under a doctor’s care and everything is cool,” the veteran actor-comic said in a video posted to X a the time. “I’m finished with standup. I’m just focusing on writing and acting from here on out.”

He was a funny one. RIP.
Rest In Peace, Richard.

bttt
RIP Lewis. I’ve been binging “Curb.”
Kind of a surprise. He lost weight and appeared quite healthy the last few times I saw him on the show. Dying of a heart attack seems like the least possible outcome.
IIRC, John Candy lost about 40 pounds, right before his fatal heart attack.
I met him back in the 80s before he was famous at the Laughin in Washington DC. Hung out there a lot and met lot’s of before they were famous comics. Richard was a great comic and a very nice man. RIP, Richard.
Ping.
