Ukraine’s military has destroyed a Russian A-50 surveillance aircraft, Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk said on Friday.
“The A-50 with the call sign ‘Bayan’ has flown its last!” Oleshchuk wrote on the Telegram messaging app.

I would assume, looking at but with no military background, that those are expensive to replace. Perhaps not readily replaceable under existing sanctions effects.
What is irreplaceable is the amount of troops the Ukies have recently lost, not to mention the cities and territory….this is “ feel good” news for the war cheerleaders…..their “ Hopium” still alive and well.

After taking Avdiivka, units of the “Centre” group of Russian forces “continued advancing in a westerly direction”, the defence ministry statement said.
“In cooperation with aviation and artillery, they defeated accumulations of manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces” in six nearby settlements, it said.

Looks like it was dropping flares and then became a flare. 👍

Are there any links to pictures of the other two aircraft wreckage from the claimed shoot down? It is not clearly apparent what happened with the night time video linked and all the decoy flare popping going on.
Big whoop. And Ukraine loses major battles.
Even when a G/A missile strikes a flare, it goes boom.
