Don’t “archeologists” imagine that it had a wooden roof?
Sort of, “cerimonial” coming in out of the rain.

I’m surprised they didn’t say it was a ‘calendar’.................

When I saw the title I thought it said
Ancient megalithic pizza found in the Andes
Then to add to the confusion,
According to the researchers, the plaza dates from around 4,750 years ago and is one of the earliest examples of a circular plaza construction
It turns out that
“It was probably a gathering place and ceremonial location for some of the earliest people living in this part of the Cajamarca Valley,” Toohey adds. “These people were living a primarily hunting-and-gathering lifestyle and probably had only recently begun growing crops and domesticating animals.”
Add long as it wasn't a pineapple crop, all's well that ends well.
(I love pineapple on pizza, so that admission probably won't end well around here.)

Did a vehicle come from somewhere out there?
Just to land in the Andes?
Was it round, and did it have, a motor?
Or was it something different?

Archeology 101 = “It must be some sort of a religious symbol” ( it’s never a beer hall).
To: SunkenCiv
I initially read “plaza” as “pizza” and was very confused.
I was like, man, that’s a big pizza. How did it survive? Was it really a pizza without Italians?

Boy, early man and circles. *Crop* circles, no less.
Where does it ever end?

4,750 years is a little old, granted, but time sure flies when you're having pun.

Well, the Americas had the tomato sauce before the Italians. :^) But that long ago, no Gremlins and Pintos, so, the big issue was getting it delivered to the cave in 30 minutes or less.

Yes, when I first read it, I thought the same thing.
Would have had a Dominoes effect back then.

:^) When I have seen "megalithic plaza" in earlier topics, I took it for granite.

Would have had a Dominoes effect back then. It would have caused a collapse of the space-thyme continuum. The works.
