An “unknown” outbreak aboard a cruise ship is spreading, and now 154 people are sickened, said the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in an update this week.
So far, 25 crew members and 129 passengers on the Carnival-owned Cunard Cruise Line’s Queen Victoria have become ill during the trip, which is up by about 15 cases from when the illnesses were reported earlier in February, according to the CDC. The Queen Victoria cruise has 1,824 passengers and 967 crew members on board, according to the agency.
It’s still not clear what’s causing the outbreak on the cruise ship, which left Florida on Jan. 22. Symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea, said the CDC, which provided no other details.

Oh my! Whatever could it be?
Got to be one goofy SOB to take a cruise these days.
It's on purpose, because when that day comes, it will be serious yet no one will believe anything. Max carnage ensues and when the dust settles, viola! population reduced to more manageable levels.
I will and never have ever stepped foot on the floating germ factory.
The latest installment of “Pandemic™®©” is on the market in initial customer testing.
And so it begins. It was this month in 2020 when Diamond Princess was docked in Japan. Just eight months before the election. Fear porn will run rampant. Drop boxes. Quarantines. Social distancing. Masks.
“I heard the toilets got clogged up and were flooding the many of the rooms.”
That’s the scary thing to me. I can take norovirus, Covid, etc., but not toilet issues.
My wife and I saw my mother-in-law off on a cruise to China.
Damned near killed her.
Cruise ships appear to be perfect petri dishes to try out old and newdiseases.
Zztop, I heard it was the X!-)
I never understood the allure of being trapped on a tin can with 1800 possible a-holes. Some folks just have to be around other folks constantly, I guess. Not me.
Makes an iceberg sound preferable.
My daughter and her friend, both world travelers, recently returned from a cruise around Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand with many stops. Brand new ship, maiden voyage, nobody sick.
What she did notice is that cities in those places are clean, have no street people, crime rate is very low. Confiscatory taxes, but the money is used well. Melbourne is most beautiful city, she said, lovelier than Patis, etc. She went to those places many years ago before they were invaded by illegals.
Floating petri dish...
...no thanks.
SAME here
That would be a good assumption, except crew usually don’t get it in such high numbers since they more strictly wash hands... It’s common to have big number of passengers sick from norovirus and very few crew
The Diamond Princess anyone?
“The Disease Boat”
Coming to TV soon?
Getting ready for the elections. Those lab created virus’s are bad news. A cruise ship is a great way to spread them.
You know a timely report and valid analysis of the Diamond Princess, and the USS Theodore Roosevelt cases a month later would have saved us all a lot of trouble.
