Tucker Carlson Says Trip to Russian Grocery Store Has ‘Radicalized’ Him Against US Leaders: ‘Legitimately Angry’
The Wrap- Yahoo Entertainment ^ | 2/15/2024 | Josh Dickey

Tucker Carlson says he went “from amused to legitimately angry” at U.S. political leaders during a recent trip to a Moscow grocery store, where the independent conservative journalist and his crew guessed that a cart full of food would cost about the equivalent of $400 in American dollars – and it came in around a hundred bucks.

“Coming to a Russian grocery store, the ‘heart of evil,’ and seeing what things cost and how they live, it will radicalize you against our leaders,” Carlson said in the video shot on-site as he shopped for eggs, bread, wine and other staples. “That’s how I feel, anyway, radicalized. We’re not making any of this up, by the way. At all.”

-snip-

“So we were guessing what this would cost,” Carlson said as he puts his items on the belt. “Everybody [in the crew] is from the United States … and we didn’t pay any attention to cost, we just put in the cart what we would actually eat over a week. We all [guessed] around $400 bucks. It was $104 U.S. here. And that’s when you start to realize that ideology doesn’t matter as much as you thought.”

“America, when we realize she is dead nobody will be alive to mourn her loss. “

Sorry to say, but in many parts of the world it will be scornful derision and celebration.

The USA Elite has been infected by foolish hubris for many decades, it has made many unnecessary enemies, and continues to act arrogantly as if it is still the global power of 30 yeears ago.

The failure of economic sanctions against Russia, and the inability to even control the Houthis and keep the Suez open ought to be a wake-up call.

But no. They just borrow another $100 billion and send to other countries while a human wave border invasion continues.

And the “leadership” of every other Western country apes the failures of the US Elite.

When making such decisions, one must balance infrastructure, corruption, crime, standard of living, political instability and repression, risk of war, climate...
The US of A has certainly been either failing or declining markedly in all those areas and more in recent decades.

I guess pooping on streets, fentanyl addiction and brown on white bullying offsets all that to your satisfaction...?

All the countries of the West increasingly look like Brazil etc. Incredibly luxurious living for the elite. Incredible squalor and poverty for the masses.

That should be inordinately clear to all who are awake.

And the average Russian worker’s salary is $750 a month.

And, Americans are earning 11% less when adjusted for inflation under Biden all while you're obsessed with what Russians are earning.

You're a sick SOB with an agenda that contradicts the problems Americans are having to deal with.

I don't care what had to happened to you or politicians in DC to make you care more about Americans that Russians. A slow, painful death for you and those in question would be just fine with me.

You’re right. They don’t call us the stupid party for nothing.
I think it was true when he said it back then.

“So her grocery bill would be ~1 month’s wage.”

Yet, somehow the economics prof wasn’t living under a bridge since she didn’t have a ruble left over after groceries alone. No shoes, either. Nothing to pay the salon to be a pretty blonde. No coat to survive the Russian winters. No way to pay the subway to get to work. No pot to piss in, either.

Even when adjusted for income US citizens pay way more as a percentage of their earnings on food that most western nations, this is a known and demonstrable fact and has been for a long time

Idiotic comparison: Why doesn't he ask what the average Russian makes?

I was in Ukraine in 2016: a loaf of nice, fresh baked bread was 5 cents off the high street.

You're simply a Russian troll shedding crocodile tears. There's nothing about aiding Ukraine that has any large impact for Americans except Russia's defeat.

The main problem for the US is its own government.

Having lived in Europe for three months, US prices for comparable quality are higher, but average food prices at cheaper grocery stores are quite low. Food production is heavily subsidized and regulated in Europe, while the US has higher distribution costs across a larger space and has problems with national and local monopolies like Cargill and a handful of national grocery chains.

Carlson has really made some puzzling career moves since leaving Fox News Channel. First he slobbers all over the Tate pimp, and now this.

Even his former producer, someone who considers Tucker a good friend and has steadfastly defended him, is on X encouraging good faith criticism of him for this embarrassment

How many government restrictions, subsidies, and interference does Russia put on food production?

The spending package the Dems are desperately pushing thru by hook or crook will add .1 $trillion right onto the national debt. There's one large impact right there.

Ya don't understand that? Well, come out of the closet, liberal.

“ I’ll wager you can get more than that for 100 rubles in Moscow.”

I have no desire to eat food produced in Russia .
No need to ingest heavy metals or salmonella.
Our farmers and food manufactures in the US are second to none.
GO USA!

Well,, there are some cheaper plans available even in the US.
Just googling, T-mobile offers starting package for like $10 a month (probably many strings attached?). US costumers prefer better, more expensive plans, but people in poor countries are stuck with the cheapest plans.
Ditto with almost all stuff. They get the cheapest, poorest quality or second hand stuff.
E.G. Hispanics make great car technicians. They are trained to fix any car, in any condition, using no parts.
Cuba still has many US made cars from 1950ties daily on the road. Without access to parts!
They are just creative.
