Tucker Carlson Is Wrong About Moscow — And The United States

At the World Government Summit, Tucker Carlson told a gathering of world leaders that Moscow “was so much nicer than any city” in the United States. “It’s radicalizing for an American to go to Moscow,” Tucker went on. “I didn’t know that. I’ve learned it this week, to Singapore, to Tokyo, to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, because these cities, no matter how we’re told they’re run and on what principles they’re run, are wonderful places to live

If you’re wealthy, I imagine, Moscow is pretty great. This is true of most European cities. When you’re an American tourist, you tend to stay in clean and beautiful city centers, eat at the best spots, and wander around the most attractive areas of town. In Europe, you get to see onion domes that were built by serfs dotting the skyline. I’m sure it’s neat.

It is also true that if you’re an average person, Moscow is awful. The average Muscovite is most likely to live in some grim outlying apartment complex, many of which were built during the Soviet era. That’s if they’re lucky. Many Russians live in Novosibirsk, Ekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, and Ufa. Russia’s per capita yearly GDP is around $13,000. In the United States, it is around $83,000. It’s around $46,000 in Mississippi, our poorest state. Most Russians are living in what most Americans would consider poverty.

Not everything is about money, of course. Religious commitment? Around 50-65 percent of Americans claimed religion was important to them (depending on the poll). In Russia, it’s at 16-34 percent. The Russian divorce rate is at 74 percent, the highest in the world.

But that doesn’t change the fact that 20 percent of Russian households don’t have indoor plumbing. Or that a third of Russian hospitals don’t have running water.

Marcus needs to get on the road and see America’s cities—up close and personal.

For a reason that is politically incorrect to discuss, the more ethnically diverse Western cities become, the higher the crime rate. In places in the former Warsaw Pact Bloc countries that have not embraced such "diversity", the cities remain pleasantly livable.

Houses / apts may be dim & dungey because perhaps Tucker is comparing things in his own mind whats up to standard.

This is what he fails to see- Putin is all about mouthing yes to the “ globaloney, WEF, Alphabet groups, etc.,
and in actuality the bedrock of Russian
culture is Eastern Orthodoxy.

Putin doesnt put up nor tolerate 57 degrees of gender identity. those kind of things arent even discussed and bypassed.

You wont see Putin eating out of the WEF hand either. He is very much against this globaloney because he understands that to accept it would be the death of russion culture and religion.

He has a valid point: in many other countries city centers are cleaner, safer, and more attractive than the urban fringes where many people actually live.

But saying that people on the kolkhoz don’t have flush toilets doesn’t disprove the assertion that downtown Moscow may be cleaner and safer than downtown New York, Los Angeles, Chicago or other big US cities.

He’s fundamentally an entertainer so he has to get you to pay attention to him. Any actions, statements, etc. that move him up into your interest radar is a plus for him.

Today entertainer and journalist are often synonymous.
If you look at Carson as someone who has to generate ‘buzz’ everything he says and does makes sense.

You really OK with the hundreds of billions of dollars of your taxes flooding into a country that when all is said and done, will be rebuilt by Black Water with funding from the U. S. govt and their recruited banks?

This war is nothing but political bullshit and could have come to an end in the first year of their conflict if the US had provided the Ukraine with all the necessary military assets they required and had available.

So tell me, what is the propaganda that Tucker is spreading and what is his intent and what institution is he targeting?

Based on his comments, he's clearly targeting the actions of our current government. So the question is, why are you criticizing him and supporting our government actions?

Your own definition defines pretty well what all these “talking heads” do both - lefty and right!

I criticize all “talking heads” because they move political discussion down to TV entertainment level. How long would any of them last if they had poor ratings. Since its all ratings driven it’s a form of entertainment. You’re lying to yourself if you think it’s not! Journalism, conveying information to the public is a tertiary if not a quaternary concern. They all have to do things to drive ratings where it’s “Look at me! Look at me!”. Carson represents the conservative position (My position!). He does do what all these talking heads eventually do (Some are worse than others!) make themselves part of the story. He went to interview Putin. In my mind fine let Putin have his say. That’s what journalists are supposed to do. I applaud that. (Note that doesn’t mean I agree with Putin!) If he had left it at that I would have no criticism, but he had to generate “buzz” about after the event. Not necessarily because he’s a bad guy it’s just what “talking heads (propagandists left & right)” do.

My ideal reporting of the news is text I can just read. With just text there is a minimized chance of emotionally influencing the interpretation of the “news”. Doing so with a raised eyebrow, slight smirk and other visually influential means. It still leaves the ‘newsies’ with enormous power the ability to report or ignore! I’ll make my own decision about what I accept as factual or not about the “news”. I refuse to allow myself to be driven emotionally toward that decision.

Well that's a stupid comparison. A quick websearch places our cost of living at about 4-6x Russia's. So their equivalent per capita is somewhere around $65,000 a year, putting them on the poorer side of these US, but not close to the poorest State!
