I love my Nissans. I lease now, but the last Altima I bought brand new was their 2005 model, purchased in the spring of 2006.. It never broke down on the road, or out-of-State. Never left me stranded. Besides regular oil changes, replacement batteries, new tires/tire rotations, and required yearly State inspections, the only expensive repair I had in all that time was the A/C compressor that died a couple of years before I traded it in. It still had the original muffler and exhaust system on it when I traded it in for a leased Nissan in 2019.
So he was close! It made me laugh, but he was not amused.
For me, it’s their Frontiers and Xterras.
I’ve had two Xterra since 2005. 2005 and 2014.
And I’m on my second Frontier. First was a 2006. Currently driving a 2020.
Ranked ratings like this are flawed because they don’t distinguish between serious issues which affect the functionality or safety of the vehicle, and annoyance issues which don’t.
One of the biggest “problem areas” (49.1 problems per 100 vehicles) is infotainment systems, primarily problems with voice control and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity problems.
I wonder what the ratings would look like if this one area was deleted from the totals.
Tesla not a car...an EV.
Blame technology for the problems. Driving a new car sucks with all the shxt they put in them.
I remember putting a key in the ignition, start and go. Now it’s keyless, has to boot up or download and reboot has so many F’n sensors for lane assist, adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance, back up cameras and auto stop, hands free driving all for idiots who shouldn’t be in a car because they can’t drive, navigation systems cause most of the dumb f’s can’t read a map or know where they’re going.
They’ll be driving with the virtual headsets next.
I miss the 60s and 70s... muscle cars and fun.
Son has a large family, Ford 15 passenger van, circa 2010 model. Wouldn’t start last week, got towed to dealer. Mechanics telling him fuel pump and control board. $1950 out the door cost.
Outrageous. Ford must be making up for their EV losses on service $$$.
Non-union. Employees aren’t democrat idiots.
Screw the dealer, go to Car X, Tuffy, or some local mechanic. Dealers are scheisters.
Do you wash you truck? Nothing worse for a paint job than a wash and wax.
Last year I bought a used Chrysler 300 from CarMax (I don’t buy new cars) with some hesitancy due to Chrysler’s well-known problems with quality. I love the car. It now has 30K miles and I’ve had no problems with it. Still keeping my fingers crossed, though. Also, it sounds like a lot of the problems across all manufacturers are with the infotainment systems. I’m sure that can be frustrating but it’s not like engine or body problems. At my age I’m amazed at the reliability of most automobiles compared to when I was in my youth.
Interesting. My wife had a 2003 Camry with over 200k. No problems but we elected to replace it last year as a preemptive safety measure
Yep. My Paciifica has an advanced high tech infotainment system. But my Allstate policy had an option to insure that. Boy, did I click that.
Buick and Chevy are in front of pretty much everybody.
And Jeep is doing pretty well.
Let me know when Chevy resurrects the ‘57 with seat belts and air bags. Would be a thousand times better than today’s junk.
The title is somewhat misleading, where it says Chrysler is last. Prior to looking at the numbers, I interpreted the title as Chrysler motors, which includes Ram, Dodge, & Jeep, all being bad.
Our favorite is our Subaru, it’s our second new one. Our least favorite is our F150, I cuss at it every time I get in.
Heh, heh. My Pacifica has Park Assist. I tried it once. One Time. To see if it worked. It did. But I could have parked the dang thing myself quicker than it did.
I will say I like the adaptive cruise control.
I'm an old lady, so a pick-up or SUV wasn't ideal for me. I've always driven four-door sedans, and found Nissan Altima's an extremely comfortable car, especially for driving long-distance on the highway. After I traded my 2005 Altima in, I discovered cars no long had CD players. My old Altima had a 5 CD Bose system in it. So I had to convert all my CD albums to MP3 files, and put them on a USB stick so I could continue to listen to my music while driving.
I thought that’s impossible. Seriously? Then I looked it up.
