Every time Jeep changed hands, its reliability went down. So I’m surprised Jeep ranked as high as it did (average).

“Toyota Tops Most Dependable Brands...”

Pretty easy thing to do, since they don’t sell EVs to speak of.

"Why do you think Honda’s are low in this report?"

I dunno.

Nothing I can think of would prevent me from buying a late model Honda.

Some of their vehicles seem a little weird, but buying a new Accord or Odyssey seems like a safe bet.

Well their sedans are biblical: “If two on earth pray in one Accord, the Lord will answer their prayer...” :)

In defense of my BMW friends, my understanding is that every new BMW owner gets a three day course in "How to Drive Like an Asshole with their purchase.

Good one, Billorites.
Friend of mine runs an autoshop. He was in the backseat of a BMW ripping up the wheel wells or something. I said, what are you doing?

Changing the battery - it's in here somewhere.

Cummins helped with that.

A couple of Ram guys were trying to convince me of how reliable their trucks were. I told them the reason they weren't too bad was because the major components were made by Cummins, Dana, and Allison replacing the Chrysler/Fiat junk. After objecting, one Ram guy turned to the other and confessed "You know, he's got a point. I only bought the Ram because of the Cummins."

Have never ever owned a Chrysler - now Fiat (Fix It Again Tony) - product in my life. I have friends who have sworn by them but hey, that’s their opinion.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the Jeep Wrangler are probably the reasons why Jeep rated as highest they did. The Jeeps made by Fiat? Run away as fast as you can.

I’ve had Beemers, Hyundais, Mitsubishis, Hondas, VWs, Toyotas, and Fords. Honestly the Fords have been great (okay, the Hyundai was great too - I beat the hell out of it and it just kept running and running). But I’m a Ford guy now. My twelve year old Escape keeps cranking. Next vehicle will be another Ford, either an Edge or an Explorer.

“How Chevy near the top and GMC near the bottom when they are they same vehicle?”

Not only that, the Yukon/Suburban are produced on the same assembly line. You can have 3 vehicles rolling down the line, one Cadillac, the next GMC and the next Chevrolet.

LOL! In my old 528, the battery well was in the trunk.

“”I’ve had good experiences with Toyotas so maybe I did something right.””

I’m driving a 20 year old Toyota Camry. Bought it new in 2004 in Huntington Beach and drove it to GA when we moved out of CA.. Being oldsters, we didn’t do much driving. It has less than 50,000 miles on it. I need about 700 more miles on it before the next oil change and whatever else they need...My husband passed away 3 years ago so I’m flying blind on all this stuff. I didn’t drive it at all in CA but had to learn after my husband got ill after we got here. I drove a ‘78 Chevy Malibu and I could at least see where the end of the hood was - the reason I wouldn’t drive the Camry in CA..I still can’t judge parking without knowing where that front end is and it’s too late for me to grow a few more inches!

Sold the ‘78 Chevy Malibu with less with 80,000 miles on it when we got ready to move in 2006 and got as much for it as we paid brand new. Great car. Should have brought it to GA with us on the moving truck...

That’s why my rollback (tow truck) is allowed to be a GM. It’s powered by cat. Shifted by Alison. Stopped by bendex and axles are Eaton.

The GM parts are falling apart though.

we lost our Rav to a rear end and since it had a lot of miles, we didn’t get much for a settlement.....but I’ve had two good Toyotas and I want to get another.
